Quite good for an MTV movie. Cloris Leachman carries the burden

The previous review contains factual mistakes: Neither the rape investigation nor the trial "are bungled by police and prosecutor". It is just that justice moves very slowly, so the family of the victim gets in despair. There is NO "rapist's female attorney Lynne Hollister"; the defense attorney here is a man. Belinda Balaski briefly appears as Lynne Hollister, another victim of the accused rapist..

It is wrong to say that "the rapist is acquitted"; as I said, it is just that the trial seems to never going to begin.

It is an exaggeration to say that the girl's "stepfather opposes" what his wife is doing; it is mostly that he is losing hope due to the procedural delays and the repeated changing of DAs in charge, which gives the family the impression that the trial is going back to zero every time.

    M. Emmet Walsh appears uncredited, as the sympathetic Probation Officer Fisher. Also, "Charles Gray" is cast as a certain Rogers character, but if it is, it was not the British actor by that name. His photo on IMDB cast listing here should be removed.

The film is quite good, and shows the deficits in the system of justice, at least then and there.
