Zi yue: Shi se xing ye

Three separate stories. Each has a death element to it. The first starts with a way station for the dead on their way to their next life, be it animal or human. Except one man is sent back instead and wakes in his coffin six days later. He finds out his wife was cheating on him with his best friend and his son needs the insurance money. You'll have to watch for the rest of that story.

The first story was good but not great. The second was just okay. While the English title "Sensual Pleasures" would lead you to believe the stories center around sex, they do not. There is some nudity & non-explicit (only one body is in frame at a time during) sex scenes but not very long and just side stories. These stories are really each about death in some way. A Shaw Brothers production at it's least productive.

The third story quickly indicates a predictable outcome which is worsened by taking a long time to get there. All three stories are tied together by the finest of threads. Almost not at all.

I'd recommend watching the first story and quitting after it ends. If you happen to watch the second, then you will regret wasting your time on the third as it's much worse. Or just skip this movie completely.
