          Hilarious B-Movie!

This is movie is absolutely hilarious! It has a crazy plot where some gangsters have hidden diamonds in a candy-pot and somehow it ends up in our friends hands. Then the mob is trying to get the diamonds back and a crazy chase begins. The special effects are primitive and that's what makes it so funny. It also has a lot of good fight scenes including the best I have seen with the old Yuen Siu Tien. He does all the fighting by himself and that's spectacular! Yuen plays a kung-fu teacher who got a own school and where one of the main characters practices. The main characters are by the way a girl (she's the one who trains at Yuens place) and a boy who are about 20-25 years old. I don't know their names and they are not listed in the cast list. But if you enjoy goofy old kung-fu movies this is a must!

I'd like to think that smuggling diamonds in a fake cyst is a thing!

Director Cheung Sum successfully created a durable, amusingly whacky, panther-paced, action-packed, splendidly slapstick-silly chop socky gem. Kung Fu Master Named Drunk Cat remains a breezy action comedy classic that no serious fan of muscular Kung Fu gymnastics, charismatic chop socking eccentricity, martial art-infused mishaps, and broad comedy shenanigans should miss! There's a lovely cast of familiar Kung Fu favourites, super loud Kung Fu Foley, a pleasing variety of flamboyant fighting styles, funky tracksuits, spectacularly agile comedic buffoonery, groovy library music, plus there's a playful vibe maintained throughout that I really appreciated! Propah Brillo!!! 'Kung Fu Master Named Drunk Cat' is a riotously fun 70s Kung Fu flick, which is only marred by its brevity, and I'd like to think that smuggling diamonds in a fake cyst is a thing!

          Simon Yuen steals the show

In 1978 Simon Yuen played the drunken master in Jackie Chan's breakout hit movie. I don't get the drunk cat reference in this title at all but Simon Yuen certainly steals the show. What is left to say about him that has not already been said? 321 movies total and in this one he is doing his own stunts at age 66. There's another legitimate master in the film - Chiu Chi-Ling is a true Hung Gar Fist master with family ties to Wong Fei Hung's school. He played the challenge fighter on stage and many similar roles as the strong guy. I thought all the comedy fell flat but the comedic fight choreography was tops. It's amazing they chose railroad tracks for a fight. There are plenty of grassy fields that will feel a lot softer on the falls but they fought on the rocks and rails anyway. THis one is a must see for martial arts movie fans.
