What does one say about a film of such breathtaking beauty and atonishing artistry. Masterfully directed by Jim Clark in 1978, this film stands on the pantheon of cinema genius. How Deer Hunter won Oscars over this remains one of the huge miscalculations on behalf the motion picture academy. Solid skillful directing, is backed up 100% by acting that borders godlike. Wonderful cinematography, magical camera technique, and a highly unique style of story telling as the titillating plot unfolds with unending suspense and timing. Cinema was changed forever by this movie, and in Cannes it got a standing ovation of over 15 minutes. Perfection. I even saw boobs.
This one hails from the "golden age" of adult films. It actually has a plot and contrary to what has been said by some, the girls are still kinda cute including the late Bambi Woods. The music for the film is one of the things that make it memorable. Listen to it and see if it doesn't get you worked up.
The candle shop scene is one of the best and I'm still in love with Roberta. Her other scene in the locker room was tremendous and I only wish she and Bambi had managed to be in the same scene. The library BJ scene is one of the best of its kind....that girl can...well, you know. I would suggest this film for couples who want some plot with their action.

Debbie Does Dallas is the alltime classic adult film of the golden age when porn was actually something more than tissue and lotion movies...well it still is a tissue and lotion movie but I actually enjoy watching these begining to end....because these films had something that today's adult films don't have...that is nostalgic and silliness and actual plots. People today despise porno like this because it has a plot and they just want to see the nudity , and thats a shame because the producers actually cared about the product back then. These were shot with the intention of proving that they could carry the banners as actual film makers rather than hacks who could shoot boring sex scenes for their own enjoyment rather than the audiences. Debbie Does Dallas is the top favorite because of it's over the top acting of Bambi Woods as the ditzy sweet blonde character , and the hillarious shopkeep of Mr.Greenfeld..hillarious dialogue and one of the best porno scores ever make this an all time top 10 classic..

The Golden Age Of Porno is one of my favorite genres. The cheesy music , the plots , the dialogue , the nostalgia..oh and the uh..sex stuff. Debbie Does Dallas stands out as one of the greatest films of this decade. It presented an innocent virginal character rarely seen in porno and a plot..the first sex scene doesnt take place until 15 minutes into the movie..it was building up plot. Now some people on here get way too deep in the plot..if this was the Devil In Miss Jones that would be fine..but c'mon it is after all a cheap skinflick from the 70's..just enjoy it

I find it remarkable some of the comments that are made in these "reviews"??? One gentleman thought it was like watching a porno? I wonder what he thought it was gonna be.....perhaps a love story, maybe a sports competition. Someone has to have been deep, very deep in the South American jungle to not know the premise of "Debbie Does Dallas". And others comment about how unattractive most of the actors/actresses are. And I imagine all of them are out of the molds of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I might guess that most of them would give their right arm to spend one night with any of the actresses in the film. One has to remember this movie did not come out of the 2000's. This movie is 30 years old. Much of the technology of today's filmmakers was not available then. As one post commented correctly, this film gave some of the Oscar nominated films of the year a run for their money. And it was not even shown in the mainline theaters for the most part. It was one of the many examples of the destructive forces appearing in a film such as this can have on a person. Many actors/actresses have attempted to start by appearing in a non-participatory sexual role of an X rated film, and some cases a very limited participation such as this one. Bambi experienced a downfall that apparently led to her very untimely death. Kristen DeBell, who was in "Alice in Wonderland", found that even though she was attempting to get into the mainstream films her involvement proved to be her death knoll in the industry. However, Julianne Moore who appeared in Boogie Nights didn't suffer the same results. So when we talk about these films we need to realize we are talking about a very volatile, unpredictable group of films and participants involved in their making.
