As he nears his 50th birthday, David Beckham rolled back the years recently when he posed in his underwear for a Hugo Boss ad, bringing back memories from yesteryear.
Today, Beckham revealed he trained for 14 weeks prior to the ad, cutting out “good food and wine” from his diet.
“I hung my pants up when I did my last commercial 10 years ago and never thought I’d do it again,” said Beckham, who was at the inaugural Mip London in conversation with Netflix content chief Bela Bajaria. “I told my team I’m not going back in my underwear but then we signed the Boss deal and they said they had an underwear campaign and I was under quite a bit of pressure at that point so I agreed and trained for it.”

The organizers of a Dolly Parton musical currently touring the UK have issued a statement condemning homophobic abuse being directed at the cast during performances.
In a social media post, the producers of Here You Come Again said: “In light of homophobic comments and abuse directed at our company, the producers of Here You Come Again condemn this abhorrent behaviour in the strongest way.
“Individuals making such comments are not welcome at our show. They have been – and will be – ejected from the theatre immediately. We stand against all forms of prejudice and are extremely proud of the inclusivity and respect which Here You Come Again celebrates.”
The intervention comes after Stevie Webb, one of the stars of Here You Come Again, posted a TikTok video chronicling incidents of abuse the cast had endured on the road.

You ever tie someone up and then leave them there? Me either. But it sure makes an interesting inciting incident for a movie. Something much more relatable is the romantic getaway––an important milestone in any new relationship. All that unadulterated time together does wonders to get to know someone, truths unearthed and informing the future of a relationship. Iris (Molly Gordon) and Isaac’s (Logan Lerman) trip kicks off like an AirBnb commercial in Oh, Hi! But what begins as a fun weekend loses its appeal; unfortunately the film follows suit.
On their first trip together, Iris and Isaac enjoy the platonic ideal of a weekend away: duetting Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ “Islands in the Stream,” reading while drinking big glasses of wine on the porch, and having spontaneous day sex on the couch. The two make a cute pair backed up by Gordon and Lerman’s natural onscreen chemistry.

I quite enjoyed talking to Geraldine Viswanathan and Meredith Hagner, the two brides in the Prime comedy “You’re Cordially Invited” starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. Al Roker is known for his co-hosting duties with Today. Naturally, this has led to a variety of memorable scenes with his co-hosts. Recently, Roker gave an interesting reaction to two of his co-stars as they started singing on the show.

Occasionally, this has seen Roker involved with a variety of memorable moments with his co-stars. A recent Pop Start segment, for example, saw Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie sing “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.

When you finish watching “You’re Cordially Invited,” odds are pretty good you will have one song in particular stuck in your head. But it is still a pretty robust soundtrack.
Now streaming on Prime Video, “You’re Cordially Invited” brings together two families who have unknowingly (and quite unintentionally) double-booked weddings on the same day. The problem is, the venue only typically hosts one wedding every weekend due to the size of the place. So, they decide to figure out how to share — but not nicely.
We will not spoil anything for you here, we are just rounding up the songs that are definitely on this movie’s wedding playlist and beyond.
You can find all the songs in “You’re Cordially Invited” below.

There is really nothing that is not completely predictable about Amazon Prime Video’s latest big budget romantic comedy, but with Reese Witherspoon back in the genre, and Will Ferrell doing what he does best, the chemistry is there, and so are some laughs, including a real Lol moment involving Ferrell and an uncooperative alligator that is a good reason comedies should probably best be seen with a crowd. Unfortunately, despite its stars and fan-friendly genre, this one is straight to streaming. At least in a Valentine’s Day period, You’re Cordially Invited qualifies more appropriately as a far more pleasant date movie than the horror and action Valentine’s movie the studios have planned this year. It isn’t going to make you forget My Best Friend’s Wedding, Bridesmaids and Father Of The Bride anytime soon, but it’ll do, even as the ‘R’ rating here seems a little harsh.

If there is one song you will be left struggling to get out of your head after watching “You’re Cordially Invited,” it will be “Islands in the Stream.” There are no less than three versions of the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers song sung by the cast in the film — but are they actually singing themselves?
Now streaming on Prime, the movie — directed by “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Neighbors” vet Nicholas Stoller — centers on two families who unknowingly have weddings double booked at one tiny inn. One is for Jenni (Geraldine Viswanathan), booked by her dad Jim (Will Ferrell). The other is for Neve (Meredith Hagner), booked by her sister Margot (Reese Witherspoon).
Eventually, Margot and Jim agree to try and share the space for the weekend. They trade off between taking the outside and indoor event space, but when a massive rainstorm hits, Jim and his family are forced to crash the indoor festivities.

The premise of You’re Cordially Invited, of two tonally opposed weddings getting booked at an exclusive, remote island in Georgia, is essentially a license for mayhem. That one of the weddings would seem to revolve around an overprotective Jim (Will Ferrell) clinging too hard to his terminally online daughter, Jenni (Geraldine Viswanathan), is a hook that’s right in Ferrell’s wheelhouse. The other wedding caters perfectly to the sensibilities of his co-star, Reese Witherspoon, who plays a successful TV producer, Margot, who gets roped into planning the wedding for her sister, Nev (Meredith Hagner), putting her at odds with her rich relatives.
You’re Cordially Invited follows an emotionally honest confrontation about how lonely it can be for Margot to return to her Southern origins after making it in L.A. with a scene where Jim wrestles an alligator. It then follows the abject, purposeful cringe of Jim and Jenni...

Plot: When two weddings are accidentally booked on the same day at the same venue, each bridal party is challenged with preserving their family’s special moment. In a hilarious battle of determination, the father of the bride and sister of the other bride chaotically go head-to-head as they stop at nothing to uphold an unforgettable celebration for their loved ones.
Review: Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon clashing over competing weddings at the same venue on the same day sounds fun. Even the initial trailer for You’re Cordially Invited gave me some hope that the Nicholas Stoller-directed comedy would give us a one-two punch of actors to root for as they try to undermine one another. With Stoller responsible for some of the funniest romantic comedies of the last decades, including directing Forgetting Sarah Marshall and writing The Muppets, I remained hopeful that this movie would turn out to...

Weddings are such fertile ground for star-driven comedies it seems impossible to reinvent the sub-genre. A few manage to add a new spin to a setting that has been codified by the likes of “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” “Wedding Crashers,” and “27 Dresses.” “Palm Springs” is an excellent recent example, for instance. “Anyone But You” was less creative but more financially successful thanks to the hottie pair of Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney.
Into this fray enters “You’re Cordially Invited,” written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, whose efforts include “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Neighbors.” Destined for streaming on Prime Video (like so many comedies these days), this matrimonial romp stars Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. While it’s often funny thanks to an excellent supporting cast, it also drags on too long, and comes to an unearned rom-com conclusion. Let’s just say Ferrell and Witherspoon do not ignite the screen opposite one another,...

If ever there were a season in need of some lighthearted escapism, this winter would surely be it. So audiences may well embrace Amazon’s wedding comedy, “You’re Cordially Invited” — streaming on Prime January 30th — as the equivalent of fast-food comfort. It’s familiar, it goes down easy, and you barely have to make an effort. But when it’s over, you’ll either instantly forget it or wonder why you’ve got such a sour taste in your mouth.
The most surprising thing about this by-the-numbers comedy, in fact, is that it comes to us from writer-director Nicholas Stoller. He updated Kermit & Co. so delightfully in “The Muppets,” tartly reconceived the revenge rom-com with “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” and scored on the small screen with both “Platonic” and the updated “Goosebumps.”
So it’s tempting to assume that Stoller’s participation here is akin to that of a franchise owner: he set up shop,...

It’s a sign of the times that a good, old-fashioned date movie featuring two of the most bankable movie stars of the early aughts, Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell, is bypassing theaters altogether in early 2025. When it comes to writer-director Nicholas Stoller’s latest rom-com — if that’s the word for a film where two adults set out to sabotage one another’s wedding plans — you’re cordially invited to watch “You’re Cordially Invited” at home. The Prime release should play great at any scale while its stars are crossed at one another, but miscalculates their chemistry in a gratuitous and slightly icky epilogue.

It could practically be its own subgenre by now – the low-cost indie that gets maximum production value out of being set completely in a cabin in the woods. It’s an isolated location with a limited cast where anything can happen and the characters, left to their own devices (and usually without cell phone service), can indulge in pages and pages of budget-friendly dialogue. Maybe there’s a supernatural element or suspense undertones. Add a point if there’s a reference to Sam Raimi’s “Evil Dead” series, perhaps the ultimate cheap cabin-in-the-woods franchise.
You get that the filmmaking team behind “Oh, Hi!,” an endlessly charming romantic comedy that just premiered at Sundance, knows how embedded the cliches of a cabin-in-the-woods indie can be. It zigs where you think it’ll zag, weaponizing that knowledge and using it to subvert expectations. It constantly keeps you on your toes in a way that feels refreshing,...

It’s public knowledge that Dolly Parton agreed to be Miley Cyrus‘s godmother when Miley was first born. However, no one ever knew if the two stars were actually related by blood or not. Miley and Dolly are both extremely talented and now it’s been proven that they do indeed share a connection in terms of their ancestry. These are the details.
Miley Cyrus And Dolly Parton’s Blood Relation
According to Ancestry.com, Miley and Dolly are distant relatives thanks to a man named John Brickey. He was related to both of them! John was born in 1740 as a Tennessee resident who passed away in 1806. On Miley’s side, he’s her seventh great-grandfather. On Dolly‘s side, he’s her sixth grand-grandfather. The View is back with a new season, set, and format for their podcast, The View: Behind the Table.
Season 28 of The View significantly changed the theme song, the set, and a new commute for the ladies.
The new set accommodates fewer audience members and is closer to the ladies, both of which necessitated a preshow before the season began, sans the stars.
This preshow was simply a way for the crew to get everyone on point before they brought in stars like Whoopi Goldberg and Sara Haines.
The podcast is now filmed for YouTube. It took some time to get used to the new format, as it can take a while to get used to all the latest changes.
On a recent podcast, Brian Teta, The View’s executive producer, even reminded Sara to put her phone down during the exchange.

Douglass Fake, founder of leading movie soundtrack label Intrada and producer of more than 700 albums of movie and TV music, died Saturday at a Richmond, Calif., hospital after a long illness. He was 72.
Fake’s many credits include the first complete restoration of Leonard Bernstein’s “On the Waterfront,” a lavish 5-cd release of Elmer Bernstein’s “The Ten Commandments” and the debut of several Henry Mancini scores including “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” previously only available in abridged pop recordings.
Among the label’s best sellers were expansions of previously incomplete recordings of such classics as John Williams’ “Jaws,” Alan Silvestri’s “Back to the Future” and Jerry Goldsmith’s “Alien.” Fake also supervised the re-recording of a dozen albums of classic film music including Bernard Herrmann’s “The Man Who Knew Too Much” and Miklos Rozsa’s “Ivanhoe,” “Spellbound” and “Julius Caesar.”

Despite Lori Loughlin's absence from the Fuller House series finale, Jesse and Becky can easily return in the future as they are still together in the Tanner universe. While there are no concrete plans for a Full House reunion, the cast has expressed interest in future projects, although Stamos previously stated he didn't want to revisit the franchise after Bob Saget's death.
John Stamos and Lori Loughlin reunite to make a viral social media video that shows off their Full House chemistry. The pair played the Tanners' Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky, the couple that made up the family comedy's most significant romantic storyline across eight seasons. They both reprised their roles in Netflix's spin-off sequel, but due to Loughlin's involvement in the college admission scandal, she missed the Fuller House series finale.

Dolly Parton is arguably the most beloved living American. How many people are alive today because Dolly told them to get the Covid vaccine back in early 2021? Of course, she’s a paragon of country music, but her reach goes far beyond Nashville, from the disco pop of her working-woman masterpiece “9 to 5” to the soft-rock bliss of her classic Kenny Rogers duet “Islands in the Stream.” And the crossover love has been reflected back; one of the most popular cover songs of all time is Whitney Houston’s...

Rufus Wainwright won’t hit age 50 until July 22, technically, but he started the festivities a few days early with “Fifty Isn’t the End,” a three-hour show at Long Island’s East End that was a tribute to Wainwright’s career, his family lineage and, inadvertently, some of the other children of famous musicians who happen to be among his pals.
With a lineup that included Jimmy Fallon, comic Tig Notaro, Laurie Anderson and members of Wainwright’s family, including his sister Martha and his father Loudon III, the show...

Back in 2009, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton teamed up for another duet, hoping to re-create the magic of their 1983 classic “Islands in the Stream.” Alas, “Tell Me That You Love Me” didn’t quite make waves like “Island” did, and after being released on a Time-Life compilation dedicated to Rogers, it vanished from print. Now, the lost duet is finally getting a streaming release on a posthumous album from Rogers.

Presidents both past and present have always been reliable comedic fodder for Saturday Night Live, and this week’s news of Donald Trump’s indictment was no exception.
James Austin Johnson once again played our 45th president, as Trump, in the wake of being “indicated,” looks to scrape up a little extra cash by producing the album Now That’s What I Call My Legal Defense Fund, aka Trump Popz.

Class is back in session with “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson, whose April 1 hosting debut on “Saturday Night Live” featured a comedic lesson on why she and her character, Janine Teagues, are actually nothing alike.
“I love that people are enjoying ‘Abbott,’ but I wish that they didn’t expect me to be exactly like my character all the time in public. Janine Teagues is a second grade teacher who is caring and wholesome, but I’m the opposite. I mean, I’m not a filthy whore but I like to have fun,” Brunson joked.
For viewers not familiar with Brunson, the actor provided a biting description of her acclaimed mockumentary series that caused an eruption of laughter among the crowd: “It’s a network sitcom, like ‘Friends,’ but instead of being about a group of friends it’s about a group of teachers, instead of New York...

This week’s “Saturday Night Live” cold open kicked off by addressing Donald Trump’s indictment, of course, with cast member James Austin Johnson’s spot-on Trump impression being put to good use as the former president performed various cover songs to fund his legal defense.
“Hello thank you, it’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me,” Johnson’s Trump began, Taylor Swift-style, before addressing the heart of the matter: “Well folks it happened, I got indicted. Or, as I spell it, indicated.”
He then explained that as he faces consequences for his crimes (“What the radical left democrats are doing to me is worse than any crime ever committed”), he’s launching an album of cover songs called “Now That’s What I Call My Legal Defense Fund.”
“I’ve been opening my rallies with my wonderful song ‘Justice for All,’” he said, referencing the...

The very obvious Saturday Night Live cold open featured James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, this time following on the success of his “Justice for All” song for January 6th defendants with his own album to raise money for his legal defense.
“Well, folks, it happened, I got indicted, or as I spell it, indicated,” Johnson as Trump says at the outset. “Frankly, it’s time that I come clean and admit that I broke the law and go quietly to prison. April fools!”
“Make no mistake, what the radical left is doing is worse than any crime I have ever committed, and I’ve committed a lot — close to 34.”
Trump introduces the album he’s producing, Now That’s What I Call My Legal Defense Fund, aka Trump Popz.

A spiritual kissing cousin of such compellingly campy ’90s Aussie-produced extravaganzas as “Strictly Ballroom” and “Muriel’s Wedding,” director Gracie Otto’s “Seriously Red” disarms and delights as a sensationally spirited concoction that neatly balances unfettered outrageousness and unabashed sentimentality. The beating heart of the entire enterprise is Krew Boylan. As screenwriter, she has created a terrific role for herself. As star, she proves absolutely fearless while illuminating every aspect of a sometimes exhilarating, sometimes exasperating, always endearing protagonist. She works a singularly impressive type of movie magic while simultaneously driving the movie over the top and anchoring the borderline-fantastical narrative in something resembling reality.
Boylan stars as Raylene Delaney, better known as Red, a socially awkward small-town New South Wales realtor with, as she herself admits, “an impulse control problem.” To put it mildly. A fanatically passionate fan of Dolly Parton, she decks herself out as her idol for a company gathering,...

“American Idol” marked its 20th birthday on Monday night with “The Great Idol Reunion,” a one-hour special featuring past “Idol” contestants and judges and celebrating the show’s history, both during its years on Fox and its current home on ABC.
“Tonight we are opening the Idol yearbook,” said host Ryan Seacrest as he revealed the “Idol” VIP area, which included such familiar faces as Tamyra Gray, Pia Toscano, Anthony Federov, Brooke White, Justin Guarini, William Hung, and Seacrest’s unforgettable frosted hair.
Wasting no time getting to Hung, whose name is “synonymous with ‘American Idol,'” noted Seacrest, he returned to the stage to reprise his epic Ricky Martin performance of “She Bangs” as former judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson felt right at home alongside the current panel of Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
In classic Abdul form, she kicked into Paula-speak, which fans surely fondly remember.

A Kenny Rogers tribute concert special that was filmed before the country-pop superstar’s death, “Kenny Rogers: All In for the Gambler,” has been set for airing later this month on CBS.
Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, Lionel Richie, Reba McEntire, Little Big Town, Lady A and Idina Menzel are the guests who took part in the epic show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Oct. 25, 2017 who also made the cut for the hour-long broadcast at 9 p.m. Et/Pt on Sept. 23.
Rogers, who died on March 20, 2020, at age 81, participated in the 2017 show, which was billed as his swan song following a retirement announcement, although he didn’t sing at great length.
The grand finale of the salute had Rogers taking the stage for three final numbers with Parton, including duets of “You Can’t Make Old Friends” and “Islands in the Stream” that sandwiched a Parton solo rendition of “I...

If you had “Evan Peters and Frances Conroy singing karaoke” on your “AHS” Bingo card, you’re in luck. These two longtime cast members let loose during the August 25 season premiere with a tender rendition of Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers‘ 1983 love ballad “Islands In the Stream.” Above, watch the “American Horror Story: Double Feature” video clip that everyone’s talking about.
Long-delayed because of Covid-19, the 10th season finally aired on Wednesday night with lots of former cast members returning to the fold. Peters takes on the role of playwright Austin Sommers while Conroy portrays famed author Sarah “Belle Noir” Cunningham. The unlikely duo comes to Provincetown, Massachusetts every year in order to get the juices flowing — both figuratively and literally. The mysterious black pills they take turn them into vampire-like monsters whose talent increases immensely when they drink human blood.

This American Horror Story: Double Feature review contains spoilers.
American Horror Story Season 10 Episodes 1 and 2
For 1984, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk channeled their inner Sean S. Cunningham in order to craft a campy, funny, bloody ode to classic slasher movies from Friday the 13th to Sleepaway Camp. From the very opening moments of this season, in which a car sweeps down a deserted two-lane highway along a cold, frosty beach, the first half of American Horror Story: Double Feature, dubbed “Red Tide”, evokes nothing more strongly than the works of Stephen King and Joe Hill. It’s hard to do anything related to New England and horror without running into the King family, and rather than attempt to run from the obvious influences, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk lean in and give the people what they want from the very first frames.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Cape Fear” and “Pale,” the two episodes that aired as the “American Horror Story: Double Feature” premiere on Aug. 25.
It has been nearly two years since the last season of “American Horror Story,” which took everyone on a journey through 1980s slasher movie tropes with “1984.” The new season is also starting with a film reference in “Double Feature,” but based on what the creators have said about the theme, it simply means there are two stories this season.
The first is subtitled “Red Tide” and it will encompass the first six episodes of the season; the second is “Death Valley” and it will be featured in the last four episodes. Presumably, because this is “AHS,” the two halves will be connected somehow — and they do share some cast members, including Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross and Leslie Grossman.

Melissa Villaseñor had to get creative to show off her Dolly Parton impersonation on the Dec. 12 episode of Saturday Night Live, but it was well worth it! The comedian joined Colin Jost on the Weekend Update segment of the show in order to sing some Christmas songs. However, instead of Melissa appearing as herself, she dressed up like the "Islands in the Stream" singer, in a skin-tight white outfit with a bright blonde wig. Even her chest appeared Dolly-like, but Melissa insisted they were her "regular, big ole' things." When Colin questioned the costume, given how long Melissa has wanted to do her Dolly impression on the show, she insisted she was...

Before the Bee Gees spread disco fever across radio waves, dance floors and movie screens, they were somewhat less known for their exquisite pop ballads. And they had a different lead singer: Robin Gibb, who died at the age of 62 on May 20, 2012. Unlike big brother Barry Gibb’s smooth, seductive falsetto – which propelled Seventies strobe-light classics like “Stayin’ Alive,” “Jive Talkin’,” and “Night Fever” — Robin’s lead vocals were warbly, yet soulful, elevating woeful anthems of sinking ships, collapsing caves and lovers strolling to the electric chair.
