Wilcze echa

I watched "Wilcze Echa" (Wolf Echoes) as a kid and later as a grown man. I loved it as a kid because it reminded me of West German "Winnetou", which was one of my favorite heroes at that time. One cannot deny "Wolf Echoes" originality, because it is still the only Polish movie made in Western style. The plot takes place in the wild Bieszczady Mountains, and the hero is undisciplined warrant officer Slotwina (Bruno O'Ya) from the Polish border guard. From an adult perspective, the characters in "Wolf Echoes" are one-dimensional and the plot a bit far-fetched. But the heroes of, for example, Sienkiewicz's novels, which are still popular among many adult Poles, are just as one-dimensional. The action of "Wolf Echoes" is fast-paced, and the views of the Bieszczady Mountains are beautifully photographed. An additional asset is the participation of many popular actors. So I think that this film still has some charms.
