One of the most underrated or unheard classic!!

Saathi is a romantic film directed by Late C. V. Sridhar. The film stars Late Rajendra Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, Late Sanjeev Kumar, Simi Garewal, Late Pahari Sanyal, Late David Abraham Cheulkar and Late Veena.

Ravi falls in love and marries Shanti, leaving Rajni heartbroken who was secretly in love with him. Unfortunately, Shanti develops a dreaded disease and runs away as she does not want to be a burden on Ravi and on the other hand Ravi looses his eyes in a tragic accident.

This film was probably released at the time when the career graph of Rajendra Kumar was on decline as this film is somewhat lesser heard film despite of having some stellar star cast with some amazing songs and terrific acting.

The plot of the film is slightly based on the concept of love triangle and has decent execution. The film indeed gets slow in between but still doesn't makes you loose interest in the film. The film has some romance, some emotions, some jealousy and is very heart warming ending.

The acting in the film is main point of the film and everyone was superb in their respective roles and a very special mention for Sanjeev Kumar who was very impactful in his limited screen space and not to mention Simi.

Music and songs of the film was soulful and songs like Mera Pyar bhi tu and Yeh kaun aaya are still very popular.

One of the lesser heard or probably ignored classic with some terrific acting and great music. Must watch.

    An Ignored Classic

Saathi is such a wonderful movie it's unbelievable. The story is very unique...and I don't wanna explain it because it would only take out the suspence. Wonderful songs, and an enthrallingly excellent performance once again by Vyjayantimala. No dances, but they aren't needed in such a classic. Rajnder acted great, and so did Simi. You just have to see this movie that should have been renowned as a classic!

Jo Chala Gaya Use Bhool Ja. The version of the song on the audio records featured Mahendra Kapoor's voice in addition to Mukesh's but he wasn't credited for it. Kapoor sang a refrain in the opening and interludes of what was essentially a Mukesh solo. The film version of the song did not feature Kapoor's voice.
