The police that grows on you. Or maybe it is just De Funes and his ability to channel our inner ... well feelings. He isn't a perfect character/human, but he rages in such a funny way, we can relate. Also in this movie he gets a love interest, which elevates it.
Now how is a cop in love? And with a daughter nonetheless. And what does it mean when it comes to his work ethic and maybe jealous colleagues. This and much more can be found out here. With reoccuring characters (escpecially the one of faith) make this a compelling series entry

And once again gendarm Ludovic Cruchot starts the motor of his car. The holiday time ha begun and masses of tourists are expected. He and his gendarms are sent to controll the streets. And soon Ludovic notices a very quickly driving car of a woman. He starts the chase which finally ends at the police station where he meets her, a widow of a policeman...
This film is one of the gendarm series with Louis de Funés in his best role. It always makes fun to see those films and the great landscape around Saint Tropez - and of course, Saint Tropez itself. It absolutely fits to the summer time, to a warm summer evening, sometime in August, for example. Enjoy that great film!

The third installment in the Gendarme series.Cruchot is a widower and he falls in love with a wealthy widow ,Josepha (Claude Gensac). But his daughter is not prepared to accept it and she first refuses this new "mother" .But do not panic, things will turn out fine, under Saint Tropez's luminous blue sky.
The regular guests are all here .Cruchot's superior (Michel Galabru)is making it rough all over.Cruchot's colleagues are all present too.And let's not forget the inevitable Deux-Chevaux of the nun who appears in every episode of the saga. Sandra Bullock in "speed" a quarter of century before it happened.

Le gendarme se marie, also known as the gendarme gets married, is the third installment in the Gendarme series, and it's just as entertaining as its predecessors. This time, we see Sergeant Cruchot, played by the inimitable Louis de Funès, navigating the complexities of romance while still trying to maintain order in the charming town of Saint-Tropez.
De Funès is once again in his element, blending slapstick humor with sharp wit and impeccable timing. The comedic situations are brilliantly executed, whether it's Cruchot's awkward attempts at courtship or the misunderstandings that arise from his interactions with his fellow gendarmes. The film is filled with funny and memorable moments that make it a true delight to watch.
The storyline is engaging, the characters are lovable, and the humor is consistent throughout. It's a perfect example of why Louis de Funès is considered one of the greatest comedic actors of his time. I give de gendarme op vrijersvoeten a 9/10 for its humor, charm, and the fantastic performance by de Funès.

Of course also appears the ordinary nun, this time driving rapidly a sidecar and Ludovic as co-pilot , replacing the habitual Citroen.
It's an entertaining story and very amusing tale with the farceur Louis De Funes.Packs agreeable comedy, tongue in check, lively situations abound, crazy humor and too much fun. This time is the first intervenes Claude Gensac who collaborated with Funes in ten movies, often acting his role's spouse, though some episode is substituted by Maria Mauban. The argument is similar to previous and successive entries adding a brief intrigue about the kidnapping Josefa by a criminal and the problems emerge. Colorful local cinematography under Saint Tropez bright sun by usual Marcel Crignon. Enjoyable soundtrack by Raymond Lefevre, however this time isn't the usual ending parade , being substituted by musical background of the just married .This co-production Paris-Rome is professionally realized by customary director Jean Girault. The flick is a Funes recital, if you like Funes'nutty acting you'll like this one, because he does intense mocking faces, grimaces, moving in disguise and lots of mimic gesticulation. It's followed by Gendarme in New York, Gendarme and creatures of outer space and Gendarme and the Gendarmettes.
