Great east end of London comedy in the ''Fools & Horses'' vein

George Baker plays a very funny east end wide boy who's mispronunciation of various words puts you in mind of Del boy played by David Jason some 10 years later. One can only think of the writers of 'only fools & Horses' taking this as a base on which to build. George's character Stanley Bowler has a Mercedes not a Reliant Robin which he wrongly calls a Mercaidis. The show's catch phrase was Mercaidis used by fans of the show to this day. He lives with his Mom, who he's somewhat controlled by, making for some funny situations. The rest of the family were pretty much on a par with Stan but not as scheming, not unlike the family of Del Boy. The 13 episodes made were not enough in my mind, but that was good for that era.
