Okh, uzh eta Nastya!

The film "Oh, That Nastya!" is about a little schoolgirl Nastya Ryabinina, who loves to fantasize about an imaginary town Eolis and her friend, a black panther. Because of this, about half of her classmates and even a few adults consider her a liar, and therefore Nastya is not allowed to join the pioneer organization, though she really wants to become a pioneer.

The ten-year-old actress Irina Volkova is magnificent in the part of Nastya. This was her first film (she was chosen by the film-makers at her gymnastics school among some 250 other girls) and it made her famous, but she appeared only in one more.

The film also has beautiful music by Yevgeny Krylatov, especially the song "Forest Deer", which has become one of the most beloved songs in Russian.

Of course, now the pioneer theme (and the communist ideology in general) is an anachronism in children's films, but then it was normal and encouraged by cinema functionaries. Only very few children (openly religious or notorious hooligans) did not become pioneers.

In the part of the teacher one can see Svetlana Kotikova, the daughter of the commandant of the Soviet sector of Berlin; as a child, she posed for the Soviet monument in Treptower Park, as the German girl being held by the Soviet soldier.
