Sal Mineo stars in this TV-movie (sometimes shown as "Only One Day Left Before Tomorrow") playing the son of a brutal Latin American dictator whose stolen jet is targeted to be stolen back by two pilots, one American, the other Welsh. The pilots meet up with two girls from the Peace Corps down South America way, also a pretty but penniless French singer brought over from Mexico City as part of a phony beauty contest designed to ensnare her in the dictator's ring of girls. Filmed in 1968, the movie actually played in theaters overseas before finally airing on NBC in December 1971. In transit, the narrative has become a choppy mess, the characters nearly unintelligible. Also, there's so much bare-chested sunning and relaxing between the handsome buddies--Peter Deuel and Clinton Greyn--that the introduction of the potential love-interests looks like a nervous afterthought. There's a nice song, "The Sadness of a Happy Time", sung by Claudine Longet, who also co-stars; the rest is dreck. *1/2 from ****
