A nice and entertaining comedy with the best actors of the time, directed by the prolific Mariano Ozores.

Four married couples (Concha Velasco-Antonio Ozores, José Sacristán-Dyanik Zurakowska, Teresa Gimpera-Germán Cobos, Cassen-Lina Morgan) are summoned to a police station by the Chief of Police (Adriano Dominguez). The only thing they have in common is that all four were married by the same priest four years ago in the same church. However, it wasn't a priest who was married, but a criminal (Victor Israel) who used to commit crimes while dressed as a priest. Therefore, in reality, all three marriages are null and void, which makes the couples rethink their new lives. Given this new situation, for the three couples who are on bad terms, this means liberation, separation, and freedom. Life is unpredictable... and sudden "singleness" even more so !.

A traditional film about four couples who find a new twisted situation resulting in nervous tension and sentimental incidents . This is a run-of-the-mill in the sixties and seventies style with the usual modest means and dealing with ordinary couples with their desires, concerns and peculiar situations that arise when their marriages are suddenly annulled after being officiated by a criminal. There are some gags and likeable set pieces throughout the film. We are told the story of four marriages with different problems of coexistence: one, with the typical complications of a large family (Gracita Morales and Cassen); another, that of an advertising model and a jealous photographer (Concha Velasco and Antonio Ozores); still another, full of daytime indifference and nighttime passions (Dyanik Zurakowska and José Sacristán); and a fourth, where there is as much tranquility as monotony (Teresa Gimpera and German Cobos). It is actually a film of four sketches, as many as the couples whose marriages are annulled, but without a doubt the segment that prevails is that of Cassen, a father of a large family with six children who is besieged by his wife: Gracita Morales and mother-in-law: Rafaela Aparicio, and who also has a mistress: Ingrid Garbo who, once informed of the new situation, is immeasurably after him to get married, behaving like his boring wife. So Cassen really steals the show thanks to his comic talent, already demonstrated in the previous classic "Placido" by Luis Garcia Berlanga.

There are two main distractions in the film, the first is to look at the best leading actors of the era who find themselves immersed in the surprising situation of finding themselves single after years of marriage and how they resolve this emergency. The second interest in the film is to guess which supporting actor will appear in the next frame, these include the following: Rafaela Aparicio, Fernando Guillén, Manolo Otero, Blaki, Erasmo Pascual, Adriano Domínguez, Ingrid Garbo, Víctor Israel as Polvoreta, among others. To this day, all the main and supporting actors have unfortunately passed away, except for the beautiful Ingrid Garbo, who did not have a prosperous film career, and the tireless José Sacristan, who, in his eighties and beyond, still continues to successfully act.

The picture was professionally directed by the Stajanovist filmmaker Mariano Ozores, though it failed at boxoffice and it results to be an unknown film . Mariano directed a large number of comedies and in 1964 shot a Sci-fi flick : La hora incognita . As Mariano Ozores wrote , produced and directed the former movie, but was a real flop and he was bankrupt. Then Mariano promised at the future only to make comedies . Although it won prize of the National Syndicate of Spectacle to best actor José Luis Ozores and Best artistic Achievement . Mariano recently won a Goya Award (2016) to his long and fruitful career . Ozores made with two famous comedians , -Fernando Esteso and Andres Pajares- several successful films , as they had various years partnership between the two leads , such as ¨Agitese Antes Usarla¨ , ¨Al Este Del Oeste¨, ¨Los Liantes¨, ¨Los Energeticos¨, ¨La Lola Lleva Al Huerto¨ , ¨El Currante¨ , ¨El Hijo Del Cura¨...these films are filled with humor that still holds up , especially for those not easily offended . Mariano directed 93 films , most of them were comedies , though made some dramas as "Alegre Juventud" and "Las Dos y Media y veneno" with José Luis Ozores. Mariano directed a lot of comedies for the greatest Spanish comedians as Paco Martinez Soria , José Luis López Vázquez , Lina Morgan , Alfredo Landa , Jose Sacristán and the successful duo : Fernando Esteso and Andrés Pajares. Rating: 5.5/10.
