Singer Bobby Darin appears as Honeyboy Jones, a young entertainer who's unhappy about life in the Navy. His behavior puts him in line for a bad conduct discharge.

Ruth Thomas becomes part of the WAVES intending to write a novel on her experiences. Chick and Martha become concerned it will be a lurid expose based on the questions Ruth is asking.

Navy doctor Chick Hennesey is assigned to special duty in the shore patrol station. The prospect of a routine assignment is removed when he learns the fleet has landed.

Dr Hennesey not only has to prescribe diet and exercise for an Admiral, he has to deal with a Mess Chief, who has served with the Admiral for years, and who takes the change in his skipper's diet personally.

Chick's friend Harvey returns to San Diego and is up to his usual hijinks. But his stunts drive Captain Shafer to distraction and he decides Blair should be stationed in Guam. Chick works to keep it from happening.

Hennessy "volunteers" for the Navy relief show.

Hennesey gets a short pass and visits his parents and Dr. Hardy who inspired him. Chick helps the doctor find a renewed interest in life.

The base is busy with a lady magazine writer who proceeds to interview many of the personnel including Max and Martha, using loaded questions and hostile psychoanalyzing. She tries to corner the Captain, who keeps dodging her, but really wants to get to the Admiral. Hennesey confronts her about her bitter attitude toward the Navy.

Hennesey is treating one of Seaman Walkers's children and asked to stay with it until a babysitter arrives.

Hennesey doesn't get holiday leave and to avoid feeling homesick decides to organize a musical program. But Commander Wilkes finds out and refuses to approve any performances. Chick must persuade him to change his mind.

Captain Shafer, Chick's commanding officer, tries to arrange a romance between his attractive daughter and Hennesey.

Harvey Spencer Blair again raises Captain Shafer's blood pressure. Blair not only ages to interpret Navy regulations in his own manner, but he charms the admiral's wife in the process.

Disgruntled because his medical career as a neuro-surgeon is interrupted by a two-year stint in the Navy, Lt. William Bolt gives Hennesey a hard time.

Hennesey is assigned to a three day duty with a tough Marine unit.

Seaman Peabody's mother's letters to her Congressman mean trouble for Chick. Max convinces Hennesey to best way to combat the treatment aimed at the Seaman is to teach him self confidence by having Fuji instruct him in Judo.

Dr. Chick Hennesey receives orders to travel by helicopter to a desolated area and treat a young girl who has appendicitis. Hennesey finds that his pilot is nearsighted and the helicopter is ready for the junk pile.

Hennessey discovers that Dr. Wagner entered his name in a contest and he has won a car. Everyone except Captain Shafer is delighted when the car turns out to be an early replica.

Navy dentist Harvey Spencer Blair gets himself into hot water after assuring the admiral's wife that he can get various Hollywood celebrities to appear at charity fundraiser.

After a crushing defeat at baseball, Captain Shafer orders Hennesey to find a genius on the base who can beat the Marines in applying to the Naval Academy.

Seaman Davies arrives very angry over his fate after being burned extensively. Dr. King performs successful plastic surgery on the young man but his attitude remains unpleasant so Chick acts to remedy the situation.

Navy dentist Harvey Spencer Blair is making Chick's life miserable again when he's transferred to field duty with the Marines.

A television producer thinks that Captain Schafer is a hero and decides to present his life story.

Chick needs to persuade Dr. King to perform another miracle of plastic surgery, however King wants to give up medicine for the arts.

Dr. Wagner has been on Captain Schaffer's staff for two years, but Schafer is positive he never met him, and it looks like Wagner's supervisor, Hennessey, may be in trouble.

Chick tries to patch up a conflict between two Navy doctors that is not medical, it's personal.
