    • Trivia
In 1959, Pat Carroll was dropped from the panel because the sponsor -a reducing-pill company -objected to her size. (She was 5-foot-6 and 163 pounds.) Carroll said she was told that "if I stayed with the show, it would be like Yul Brynner giving a sales pitch for a hair tonic." But when viewers swamped the sponsor with protests, she was reinstated.
