Image
Vineet Kumar Singh Lost Role (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Vineet Kumar Singh has long been known for his intense and powerful performances, often bringing depth to characters that leave a lasting impact. Despite his acting prowess, mainstream recognition has been elusive for the actor. He recently gained renewed attention for his portrayal of Kavi Kalash in Chhaava, Laxman Utekar’s historical drama. However, in a surprising revelation, Vineet disclosed that he was once offered the lead role in Lukka Chuppi, a film that eventually became a breakthrough for Kartik Aaryan.

Released in 2019, Lukka Chuppi was a romantic comedy directed by Laxman Utekar and written by Rohan Shankar. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, the film was a commercial success, featuring the concept of a live-in relationship in a conservative Indian setting. The timeline could have been very different had Vineet Kumar gotten that role instead of Kartik Aaryan.

BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge often brings out the best of the biggest stars, capturing them as they reimagine songs by other artists, but in their distinct style. On Monday, Maggie Rogers stopped by the Live Lounge to perform an acoustic rendition of Tate McRae’s radio staple “Greedy,” slowing down the track and backing it with only guitar and piano.

“I turned the year’s biggest bop into a sad sad slow jam for BBC,” she wrote on Instagram, tagging McRae, who reshared it, writing, “Omggggg.” The rendition...

Katy Perry Can Never Sing This Song Again Due To Kelly Clarkson
Image
Kelly Clarkson’s covers of other artist’s songs have been getting a lot of attention lately. Her most recent rendition of one of Katy Perry’s greatest hits has the American Idol judge questioning if she should ever sing the song again. Several other musicians chimed in with their support as well. Keep reading to see what song they’re talking about and what got Kelly Clarkson started doing cover songs.

Kelly Clarkson & Katy Perry Have Worked Together In The Past

While Kelly Clarkson has plenty of her own hit songs, she started a segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show called “Kellyoke.” In the segment, she performs a cover of another artist’s song.

She released an official Kellyoke EP, which featured a number of her own personal favorites in June 2022. At the time, she said that she enjoyed performing covers and believed that Kellyoke was “the perfect way...

We feel like we’re on cloud nine listening to this Kellyoke cover.

On her talk show’s musical segment this week, Kelly Clarkson performed a piano-backed rendition of Katy Perry’s hit, “Wide Awake.”

Accompanied by Musical Director Jason Halbert, the singer slowed down the Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection ballad and performed the Perry favorite acoustically, showing off her stellar vocal range.

This isn’t the first time that Clarkson paid homage to Perry. Just last year, the musician sang a version of another Teenage Dream classic, “The One That Got Away,...

9-1-1 Cast and Character Guide
Image
9-1-1 began on Fox in 2018 and quickly became a popular show, even spinning off into 9-1-1: Lone Star. Though Fox canceled the show at the end of its sixth season, it was picked up by ABC for Season 7 -- and potentially future seasons. 9-1-1 stars Peter Krause, Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and an ensemble cast that greatly contributes to its status as one of the most popular procedural shows about first responders.

Created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, 9-1-1 can sometimes seem outlandish, but that is often what makes audiences enjoy it so much. Over the first six seasons, the firefighters at the 118 and their LAPD and 9-1-1 dispatch colleagues have dealt with everything from a tsunami in Santa Monica to a mudslide that took out part of the Hollywood sign and hackers whose work even has zoo animals out of their cages and wandering downtown Los Angeles.

Jack Black On Getting To The Core Of “Peaches” In ‘Super Mario Bros’ & Why Tenacious D Won’t Go The Way Of Hall & Oates – Crew Call Podcast
Image
“Ya know, I did go full method,” reveals Jack Black to us on Crew Call in regards to how he prepped for the role of Mega villain Bowser in Illumination/Nintendo/Universal’s Super Mario Bros Movie.

“I gained seven pounds, only eating Bowser-type food, which ironically is similar to my type of food: cheeseburgers, fries, just like De Niro would,” says the multihyphenate song and thespian man.

“It’s amazing how the research for Bowser was similar to what I was already doing, but, by God, I did it.”

At the top of today’s conversation with Black is how he came to craft the power ballad “Peaches” with Tenacious D producing partner John Spiker which Bowser booms in the $1.36 billion grossing animated movie. Katy Perry had “The One That Got Away,” and well, this is Bowser’s take on that as he moans about the girl who’ll always run away,...

The Undertaker (2023)
Ahead of his upcoming film, The Undertaker, the former Time Lord answers your questions about Doctor Who, Withnail, and being competitive with his actor brothers

I played Proculeius in the school production of Anthony and Cleopatra where you played the lead. Clearly you’ve had more success as a thesp than me! What can you remember about it and our English teacher Joe Hartley? caseball

I can still smell the Tanfastic – the 70s fake stuff we’d smother ourselves in so we looked like Romans. I remember the excitement of having real girls over from Broughton Hall [Catholic high school, in Liverpool] to play the queen and women. Joe Hartley – his patience must have been saint-like. His love for poetry was infectious. I’d never heard of Rada until he mentioned it. I can remember him saying that Glenda Jackson went there and being really impressed, because Glenda was the Queen of England and also one of our own.

Ken Jeong (‘The Masked Singer’) breaks down in tears over his Gazelle guess: ‘I never get so moved by an actual voice’
Image
Wednesday night on “The Masked Singer,” judge Ken Jeong got choked up after hearing Gazelle belt out “The One That Got Away” during the “NFL Night” episode. The notoriously bad guesser started out his comments by declaring, “Okay, real talk. You don’t hear me talk like this a lot, but I never get so moved by an actual voice.” He admitted that he doesn’t “have the ear” that his fellow panelists Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg have, and so he “might be wrong,” but that he thought Gazelle could be actress Constance Wu.

“It sounds like someone who I genuinely love who is a dear friend of mine,” Jeong said as he started breaking down in tears. “And I think just hearing this voice, this may be Constance Wu. And even if it’s not you, I just want you know I’m thinking about Wu.

Netflix's 'Deep Fake Love' Goes Too Far With A.I.
Image
There are any number of tricks and gimmicks that dating reality show producers have tapped lately to make their series stand out. In some cases, that means incorporating some form of completely made-up technology into the mix: Are You the One? has the Truth Booth, Too Hot to Handle has Lana, and The One That Got Away has the ominous portal. While a little too contrived, these robotics are ultimately harmless, reading more as silly than scientific. But Deep Fake Love, a new Spanish reality dating series that premiered July 6 on Netflix, ventures into a much more unsettling realm, employing deep fake A.I. technology to put couples to the test.

What’s New on Amazon Prime Video in June 2023
Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan in Creed : L'Héritage de Rocky Balboa (2015)

Amazon Prime Video New Releases: June 2023
Image
With its list of new releases for June 2023, Prime is bringing a handful of Amazon Originals and many recent movie hits to the fold.

It’s actually quite a busy month for non-American programming in Amazon Originals department. Shows and movies like Deadloch, My Fault, and Medellín all originate from outside the U.S. and U.K. For the American and British crowd, however, the streamer is debuting two big tentpoles.

The first is I’m a Virgo on June 23. Acclaimed director Boots Riley’s TV followup to Sorry to Bother You will tale the surreal and satirical tale of a giant in Oakland. That will be followed by the more conventional (assumedly) fourth season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on June 30.

The real fireworks this month come from a ludicrously deep bench of library TV and movie titles. Give them a look for yourself below but if we were to highlight just a few,...

Modern Family's Origin Phil Dunphy Casting Would've Killed The Show
Image
While the original cast of Modern Family included a very famous sitcom star as Phil Dunphy, the actor was right to turn down the role that he was offered. Casting is everything when it comes to creating a successful sitcom. While other television genres can rely on impressive action, fast-paced plotting, or complex character studies to keep viewers invested, the cozy, familiar tone of sitcoms only works if the cast has great chemistry and each performer is perfect for their role. This is tough to pull off, as sitcom characters must be broad enough to be funny but human enough to feel relatable.

However, Modern Family managed to find this balance with the show’s ensemble cast. While Modern Family rarely broke new ground in the sitcom medium, the show consistently delivered classic antics thanks to its stellar casting. The Dunphy family’s misadventures would have grown tiresome pretty fast...

Penn Badgley Clarifies Comments About Requesting Less Sex Scenes On ‘You’, Says They Were ‘Blown Out Of Proportion’

Penn Badgley is clarifying earlier comments about limiting Joe’s sex scenes in Netflix’s hit series “You”.

After receiving a public backlash for his comments, Badgley recently set the record straight on what he meant when he requested less intimate scenes for Joe on the fourth season of the smash series.

It’s like, look, we know that Hollywood has had a history of flagrant exploitation and abuse.”

Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kenneth Choi, Peter Krause, Aisha Hinds, Oliver Stark, and Ryan Guzman in 9-1-1 (2018)
(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Monday’s episode of “9-1-1.”)

Buck (Oliver Stark) was forced to take a hard look at himself on Monday’s “9-1-1,” when he met and bonded with Red, an elderly firefighter who lost the love of his life back in the day because he put his job first and dies alone by the end of the episode. Stark says this brief but meaningful encounter leaves Buck wondering where he goes from here with his choices — both inside and outside of the 118 — so that he doesn’t end up like Red. It’s also going to serve as lead-in for him to run into a very important person from his own past.

“I think the only thing in the current moment that is a sure-fire certainty is that he has his people in the firehouse,” Stark told TheWrap. “These are people that will be in...

Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
On Sunday’s “American Idol,” two of the Top 8 contestants were eliminated: Walker Burroughs and Alyssa Raghu. They performed admirably but the competition on Queen Night was just too tough. ‘American Idol’ Top 8 power rankings: Alejandro Aranda lead over Laine Hardy narrows heading into Queen Night
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
The “American Idol” Top 8 will sing Queen songs and also duet with another contestant on a movie tune as they vie for your votes on Sunday April 28. Only six of them will make it to the next stage of the competition and continue on in their quest to be crowned season 17 winner. Early favorite Alejandro Aranda, whose audition video went viral, is far out front in our viewers poll. But while he still takes a commanding 39% of the total tally, Laine Hardy has jumped up to 22% support.

The only other contestants to crack double digits in our power rankings are Wade Cota with 11% and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon at 10%. Laci Kaye Booth and Madison VanDenburg each have a lucky 7%. The two contestants all but certain to be sent eliminated on Sunday’s show are Walker Burroughs (3%) and Alyssa Raghunandan (2%).

One of Katy Perry‘s favorite contestants on “American Idol” — Alyssa Raghu — was in danger of going home during Monday’s Top 14 results episode, but luckily Katy had the power to do something about it. After America voted overnight to send their favorites into the Top 10, Alyssa ended up in the bottom seven but each judge had the ability to save one singer. American Idol Recap: Top 10 Revealed! Were the Right Singers Sent Packing?
Lionel Richie, Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan in American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002)
No one expected Monday’s episode of American Idol — which narrowed its crop of finalists down to 10 — to be easy, but I don’t think anyone expected it to be this messy, either.

From Ryan Seacrest’s uncomfortable walk-and-talks with the contestants (most of whom responded with one-word answers in a desperate attempt to move on) to his super awkward announcements of the individual results (those fake-outs were… bad), the season’s first official live episode was… kind of a mess. And that’s not even including the times that the judges literally discussed how awkward this show’s elimination process is.

Josh Groban Reacts to Katy Perry Saying He's "The One That Got Away"
Katy Perry at an event for Katy Perry: Part of Me (2012)
No one was more surprised to learn that Katy Perry wrote 2011's "The One That Got Away" about Josh Groban than the singer himself. Last year, while promoting her Witness album, she disclosed to James Corden that he had inspired the song, saying, "He's one of my good friends." Groban was caught off guard again Thursday when a viewer called in to Bravo's Watch What Happens Live and asked for his reaction to Perry's revelation. "We did [date]," he told host Andy Cohen and fellow guest Queen Latifah. "We were both very private, and so we realized we were better as friends. And we've been very, very good friends to this day. She's the best. But, I was not expecting that. That was...
