A new episode of the hit Fox singing competition series aired on Wednesday night (October 4) with returning host Nick Cannon and panelists Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg.

The show, which began in South Korea, features celebrities singing songs while wearing costumes and face masks concealing their identities until they’re eliminated.

The cast of singers will remain a secret until the masks are removed from the performers, but we do know who is returning to judge and host the successful series.

During the episode, S’more, Gazelle, Cow, Diver, and Wild Card contestant Pickle all took to the stage for performances.

Exclusive: Elan Gale, the creator of FBoy Island and a long-time Bachelor producer, is getting into business with ITV America.

Gale and his TheYearOfElan Productions banner has struck an overall unscripted deal with the Love Island producer. He will develop and produce unscripted series under the deal, particularly in the dating and relationship space.

Gale spent 10 years working on The Bachelor franchise, starting as a segment producer on Season 4 of The Bachelorette and leaving after Season 23 of The Bachelor in 2019.

He then went on to create FBoy Island, which was one of HBO Max’s buzziest unscripted hits before Warner Bros. Discovery moved the streamer out of the unscripted space. The show has since been picked up by The CW.

After receiving a public backlash for his comments, Badgley recently set the record straight on what he meant when he requested less intimate scenes for Joe on the fourth season of the smash series.

“What I was speaking about wasn’t actually the final product,” Badgley, 36, said while speaking to GQ on Tuesday. “It was sort of like the culture inherent to the production of all movies, but particularly those scenes. German actor Hardy Krüger, known for his roles in films including Barry Lyndon, Hatari! and A Bridge Too Far, died Wednesday at at his home in California. He was 93.

His death was confirmed by his literary agent, Peter Kaefferlein, who told the AP that Krüger died “suddenly and unexpectedly.”

Born on April 12, 1928, in Berlin, Krüger’s parents were Nazi party members, with the actor later in life recalling his upbringing as a supporter of Adolf Hitler. Having made his acting debut at 15, he was conscripted into the army and saw combat during the Second World War. When he refused to ambush a group of U.S. soldiers, he was sentenced to death, only to be given a late reprieve. Kruger deserted the army and hid out until the war was over. He later went on to become a member of the Amadeu Antonio Foundation, which campaigns against right-wing extremism.

Buck (Oliver Stark) was forced to take a hard look at himself on Monday’s “9-1-1,” when he met and bonded with Red, an elderly firefighter who lost the love of his life back in the day because he put his job first and dies alone by the end of the episode. They fell just short of making the Top 6 who will sing again for America’s votes on May 5. The Sunday April 28 episode of the ABC revival of “American Idol” showcased the Top 8. Each of the finalists sang one song from the Queen back catalogue. And they paired up for duets of classic movie tunes. America voted for their favorites in real-time, with the results revealed by host Ryan Seacrest at the end of the two-hour live episode. The top six vote-getters — Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth, , Wade Cota, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Laine Hardy, and Madison VanDenburg — moved on in the competition to be crowned winner of season 17.

The “American Idol” Top 8 will sing Queen songs and also duet with another contestant on a movie tune as they vie for your votes on Sunday April 28. Only six of them will make it to the next stage of the competition and continue on in their quest to be crowned season 17 winner. Early favorite Alejandro Aranda, whose audition video went viral, is far out front in our viewers poll. But while he still takes a commanding 39% of the total tally, Laine Hardy has jumped up to 22% support.

The only other contestants to crack double digits in our power rankings are Wade Cota with 11% and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon at 10%. Laci Kaye Booth and Madison VanDenburg each have a lucky 7%. The two contestants all but certain to be sent eliminated on Sunday’s show are Walker Burroughs (3%) and Alyssa Raghunandan (2%).

The Top 10 finalists on “American Idol” sing for your votes on April 21 with only eight of them making the cut at the end of Sunday’s live show. According to the results of our viewers survey, only three of the contestants — Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon — are assured of a place in the Top 8. Of these favorites to win season 17 of “American Idol,” Alejandro racked up a whopping 41% of the total tally while Laine has 21% and Jeremiah 11%.

None of the other contenders has broken into the double digits on our power rankings poll as of this writing. Laci Kaye Booth comes closest with 8% of the total while Madison VanDenburg has a lucky 7%. Each of the other five contenders registers less than five percent of the total.

No one expected Monday’s episode of American Idol — which narrowed its crop of finalists down to 10 — to be easy, but I don’t think anyone expected it to be this messy, either.

From Ryan Seacrest’s uncomfortable walk-and-talks with the contestants (most of whom responded with one-word answers in a desperate attempt to move on) to his super awkward announcements of the individual results (those fake-outs were… bad), the season’s first official live episode was… kind of a mess. And that’s not even including the times that the judges literally discussed how awkward this show’s elimination process is.
