El Camino de los Espantos (The Road of Ghosts) (The Road of Spooks)

Not bad mid-60's Mexican-made, Spanish-language black-and-white comedy-horror film. Sort of a remake of Hold That Ghost. Viruta and Capulina are Ok but no threat to Abbott and Costello. V and C play a couple of truckers who after some bridge is downed transport a bunch of stranded travelers along a spooky road to an uninhabited (but not empty) haunted house. Some amusing situations and silly goings-on. The DVD quality is pretty good. No sub-titles. Recommended for fans of this genre.

    Great movie. So funny

As I'm reading some sources online, it was my

understanding that this would be the last movie

Viruta and Capulina would work together, which

is sad because I really enjoyed watching their

movies. I couldn't help but notice that in this

last movie working together, something has

shifted between the two. I compare their roles to

their previous roles where they were overly

animated and there is a lot of energy coming from

both actors. But I didn't get this same reaction.

And if the online sources are correct about not

working together after this movie, it makes a lot of

Sense. Still, the movie is still funny with a

    ridiculous plot twist.
