In Brazil, Racism Does not Exist

Paulo Cesar Saraceni made a research through this documentary trying to show that in Brazil all the races live in harmony. He interviews black people, mulatto, Japanese, foreigners in general trying to prove that there is no racism in Brazil.

In the present days, this naive documentary is funny indeed, but important in a moment that Brazilian "Cinema Novo" was beginning. This documentary is addressed to a very specific part of the Brazilian audience, such as students or professionals of history and cinema, or nostalgic or curious persons, who wants to see how was the ideology and thinking of that naive generation. In 1967, Arnaldo Jabor with his "A Opinião Pública", and recently in "Edifício Master", the technique of interviewing people trying to prove or show something was used in the Brazilian cinema. My vote is eight.
