        Appealing principals

The romantic couple is appealing, Lata and Mukesh give them charming voice, and the music is good. Nobody is really mean, nothing too awful happens to anyone. I wasn't crazy about the best friend, but at least he was helpful and good natured. The central plot device is a cliché, though. Not a bad film but not great, that's just my opinion. I liked the Raj Kapoor cartoon at the beginning of the opening credits -- did he ever do any animated features or shorts? And I liked seeing a number of Daves in the credits -- again, that's just me! The copy I watched didn't have really good sound, but even if had been of better quality, I don't think I would have given it better rating: seven out of ten.

        an enjoyable escapist melodrama.....

A lady suffering amnesia enters an impoverished guy's life till she regains her memory to forget moments spent with him. The plot somewhat is imitated in the later releases Sadma (1983) and Mr. Bechara (1996). There are much of improbabilities in this escapist fairy tale which by end emblems in every silliness. But if you watch it for entertainment, there is abundant of it. There isn't a single moment of boredom which at time tickles you. Raj Kapoor, Sadhana, and Agha share some of the enjoyable moments on the screen. The songs are unremarkable on contrary. Overall, the film blends a perfect match of emotions and slapstick making it enjoyable through though not much of history was made by it.

Rating: 2 stars out of 4.

Sadhana & Raj Kapoor Team Up

They team up to give us a delicately woven love story. An average man helps a lost woman and eventually marries her. However the woman disappears as mysteriously as she had entered his life. Who is she? This movie has some very romantic songs and situations and the plot has some unusual twists. All in all a movie worth watching.
