    I liked it

"Storm Over Wyoming" has a lot going for it. It moves fast with a very short running time. There no downtime in this movie. The story is good. It actually took a couple of turns that I did not expect. The cast does a nice job. "Storm Over Wyoming" is a easy way to spend an hour.

    Easy to watch western

I tuned into this movie one late night when I couldn't sleep, thinking it would be a quick cure for insomnia. Instead I had a pleasant surprise: it wasn't bad. A simple plot, yes, and somewhat far-fetched, but it was entertaining and the action kept right on happening. Tim Holt was an agreeable B-grade western lead and the support cast gave him good support. Not exactly a gem, but a reasonable way to spend an hour on a sleepless night.

    Chito's girlfriend comes through

Storm Over Wyoming finds Tim Holt and Richard Martin walking into another cattlemen versus sheepmen feud when they stop the hanging of Kenneth MacDonald's foreman. MacDonald is a local cattle baron who has been targeted by the foreman of the neighboring sheep ranch Bill Kennedy. Kennedy's boss is Noreen Nash who is coming west to find out why the previous good neighbors are feuding.

Of course there is an evil scheme afoot as someone is trying to start a range war for their own benefit.

It wouldn't be a Tim Holt/Richard Martin western without the amorous Chito making time with some woman. But this time Chit's amorous adventures pay off as one of his romantic amours, saloon singer Betty Underwood helps get the guys out of a tight spot.

For once Chito was not getting a lecture from Tim about his addiction to the senoritas. That's worth seeing Storm Over Wyoming for.

    Storm over Wyoming

Rescuing a man from a lynching, drifters Dave and Chito get embroiled in a fierce range war between cattlemen and sheep ranchers, and find themselves framed for murder. Before Dave and Chito can find out, they must convince Chris Marvin, Rawlins's attractive boss, that he's no good...and get out from under a framed murder charge.

Rather serviceable Holt entry about a range war between cattle rancher Kenneth MacDonald and sheep herder Noreen Nash and how they are getting manipulated by Nash's crooked foreman. I thought the rancher was the real culprit; there's sufficient intrigue. However, it can dip in excitement mid way but the action comes thick and fast towards the end.

tim holt in a (tired) western

One of the last of about thirty westerns that Tim Holt and Richard Martin made together. and most of them directed by Lesley Selander. Dave and Chito are cowhands looking for work in Wyoming, when they run into a group of sheep farmers about to string up a guy for apparently no reason. Betty Underwood is Ruby, the lead dancer in the saloon. Underwood only made twelve films, and had danced with the Rocketts. The story is pretty lame... when they tie up one of the bad guys, they don't make any attempt to restrain his hands, so he could have pretty much just untied himself. and the prisoners and the jailers all fail to realize when something has been smuggled in using the oldest trick in the book. Noreen Nash is the ranch owner who shows up later, and they have a hard time convincing her that her own men are knocking people off. its mildly entertaining... but as Selander's bio points out, he wasn't making high quality films later on. S'all right. Filmed north of Big Pine, California.

    • Trivia
Western fans will notice that this movie offers a unique slant on the old "cattlemen-vs.-sheepherders" story. In this film the cattlemen are willing to live peacefully with the sheepherders, but the boss of the big sheep ranch is a ruthless man willing to kill his own henchmen when they fail to help him drive away the cattle ranchers. The credit for this wonderful reversal in a typical western story goes to screenwriter Ed Earl Repp, who worked from 1944-57, a 13-year career that included contributions to 49 westerns.
    • Goofs
At about the 13 minute mark when MacDonald tells Dave and Chito he will take them out to the ranch and show them around, his lips are just in a smile, not talking.
