A film full of tension and contradiction, with a strong symphonic and melodramatic sound track that push the spectator to accept the patriarchal perspective, and the positive influence of Church and Science, while establishing female solidarity and sacrifice. And yet the two women who are the real victims see themselves as the guilty party, in keeping with the prevalent ideology of the fifties in Spain.
