    The silly stone age romeos!

I'M A MONKEY'S UNCLE is one of the Three Stooges' funniest shorts. I'm a fan of Shemp, and this is one of his greats. The funniest part is when Dee Green tackles Shemp so he'll fall in love with her.

This is a great stooge short. Watch for it on AMC or on Columbia Home Video.

    **** out of 4 stars!

    A rusty short

I don't really like this short for one reason, Moe acts like Curly. Now I know Curly's wasn't a stooge anymore but to me its kinda weird seeing Moe act like Curly and getting scenes Curly would have. EX. Moe trying to kill the duck and getting angry then almost crying, and when putting butter in his hair and singing. I just think when Shemp came along that Moe got much dumber and having scenes that Curly would have.

    cavemen wooing

Larry, Moe, and Shemp are cavemen. They woo sisters Aggie, Maggie, and Baggy. That's when three other cavemen accuse the Stooges of stealing their women.

Comparing the Stooges with monkeys is obviously an insult to the monkeys. This is generally a very good Stooges short. I actually like the wooing although I do miss Curly. He would have been even funnier. The wooing is simple comedic genius and makes this one of the better Stooges short.

    • Trivia
After Larry and Moe "bathe" by the waterhole, Moe slaps Larry hard in the face with a bundle of large ferns, causing Larry to drop the turtle they were planning on eating. As Larry leaves the shot, Moe ad-libs "Don't forget the turtle" and throws it to him.
    • Goofs
While the stooges are fighting the other cavemen, they launch the first mud ball. It hits a caveman (Cy Schindell) in the face. As he raises his left hand to wipe his face, you can clearly see his wedding ring.
    • Quotes

Larry: Wake up and go to sleep!

Moe: Why you pussy-willow brain, you ruined a beautiful romance for me!

    • Crazy credits
Disclaimer after the opening credits: Any similarity between the characters in this picture and real monkeys is definitely unfair to the monkeys.
