Bland melodrama tied to the world of motorcycle racing.

Motorbike racing driver Carlo Benni (Rik Battaglia) is fed up with having to lose races just for the benefit of his construction team, so joins a rival outfit. At the same time Benni's wife Giovanna (Margit Nunke) has got a rival in love for the affections of Benni in the shape of Lucia (Sylva Koscina). Screenplayed by four writers, director Romolo Marcellini's feature film 'Engaged to Death' (first released in 1957) is essentially a commercial exploitation film, and although colourful and with not bad racing scenes, it's rather a bland melodrama tied to the world of racing, although it does improve a little as the story moves forward. It's most notable aspect however is the involvement of the prolific Koscina (in one of her earliest roles) and the prolific Hans 'Baron Munchausen' Albers (in one of his last roles) as Giovanna's father Lorenzo.
