Classic but corny comedy starred by two great players : Carmen Sevilla and Francisco Rabal

Based on Spanish novel of Alarcón , it is set in Arcos De la Frontera , Andalucia , there lives a miller called Cristobal Paterna : Francisco Rabal , he is a really glad man , because getting married to the most beautiful girl , Lucia : a ravishing Carmen Sevilla as a naturally gifted spouse . This romance creates subsequently jealousy , envy , crosses and mess ; being based on El Molinero De Arcos legend . As the gossiping women expand rumors that the gorgeous Lucia is flirting with the lecherous Corregidor : Mischa Auer , who usually lusts after the wives of poor countrymen . As the Corregidor of a small Spanish Village attempts to seduce the Miller's wife , with rather humorous results . And then the miller plans to avenge his honor by seducing the wife of the governor . And , after that , things go wrong.

This is an amusing romantic comedy , plenty of humor , jealousy, gossips , loving triangles , frolics and entertainment . Marvelous fun boasting an attractive duo and one of the earliest pairings of Carmen Sevilla and , the miller himself , played by a youngish Francisco Rabal . It is a delicious , agreeable and delectable Morsel of Cinematic Entertainment played to the hilt by Carmen Sevilla , Francisco Rabal and Mischa Auer who lusts after the women of peasants , particularly the miller's wife . Based on popular stories by Jesus Maria Arozamena and on a classic novel written by Pedro Antonio Alarcon . This novel was previously adapted in 1942 by Juan Bustillo Del Oro and in 1955 as ¨La Bella Campesina¨ or "The Miller's Beautiful Wife" by Mario Camerini with Marcello Mastroianni , Sofia Loren and Vittorio de Sica , it is a subject which director Mario Camerini had previously filmed in 1935 . And Manuel De Falla composed the famous musical play El Sombrero De Tres Picos . Acceptable main cast with two very known actors . And extraordinary support cast formed by familiar faces as José Isbert , Joaquín Roa , Rafael Bardem , Matilde Muñoz Sanpedro , special mention for always sympathetic Antonio Riquelme . Evocative cinematography in SuperpanaVision by Antonio L Ballesteros , shot on location in Andalucia . However , some color scenes have faded . Including popular songs sung by Carmen Sevilla as ¨Anda Jaleo¨.

The motion picture was professionally directed by León Klimovski , though , today results to be dated . This Argentina born but nationalized Spanish filmmaker was a craftsman who began his long career in Argentina and emigrated to Spain . Leon subsequently directed all kinds of genres as Spaghetti as ¨Reverendo Colt¨ , ¨Some Dollas for Django¨, ¨Torrejon City¨ ; Terror for Paul Naschy as ¨Orgy of Vampires¨ , ¨Marshall of Hell¨, ¨Dr Jekill vs Wolfman¨ and Wartime as ¨Bullet for Rommel¨, ¨June 44 attack force Normandy¨ , ¨Bridgestone over Elba¨.
