Henry runs for class president and wins. Unfortunately, his opponent (an aspiring Chicago alderman?) pulls some sneaky shennanigans and Henry is accused of stuffing the ballot box. With help from his pal Dizzy, Henry is determined to clear his name. There's an absolutely hilarious scene involving a mouse in an airplane.
In the first of this humorous series of Henry Aldrich, James Lydon did a good rendition of a screwball kid, who gets used in a scheme to run as president of the student body at good old Centerville High. As with any other young man, Henry falls for a girl who just happens to be the girlfriend of the major competition, Irwin Barrett. The fun begins as Henry enlists his best friend Basil (Dizzy) Stevens as his campaign manager. They work well together, although Dizzy gets distracted at times by pretty girls.
A good beginning for these two in a nine movie run.

- TriviaThis was the first in a series of Henry Aldrich films, which were essentially Paramount's equivalent of M-G-M's highly profitable Andy Hardy franchise. Though never as popular as the Hardy movies, the Aldrich films regularly returned a tidy profit to Paramount.
