Another Solid B Western

Someone has been rustling cattle and killed the owner of the ranch, Wilfred Lucas. Johnny Mack Brown rides into the situation, is jailed on suspicion, and escapes lynching, fleeing to Lucas's ranch, now run by his daughter, Nell O'Day, and her lone hand, Fuzzy Knight. But Brown isn't a drifter, he's....

Brown was a leading star of B westerns throughout the 1930s and 1940s, and vehicles like this are why. It's decently written, has some good comic relief by Knight, well performed songs, and an exciting ending under western-and-serial specialist Ray Taylor. While the outline of the plot is unsurprising, the performances are good the photography excellent, and it's an hour well spent for fans of the form.
