A very contrived and familiar plot--can it still be entertaining and worth your time?

This is the sort of film you need to accept for what it is without questioning. That's because the plot often is hard to swallow. So, how much you can stop yourself from thinking through the story will depend a lot on whether or not you will like the film. In addition, it's a very familiar sort of plot (seen in quite a few movies--including "The End")--even if it is ridiculous.

A guy (Donald Woods) is miserable after breaking up with his girl, so in a moment of total stupidity he decides to kill himself. However, he can't bring himself to do it. So, in a ridiculous twist, he asks a guy if he can arrange to have some stranger murder him since life isn't worth living. Not surprisingly, however, the intended victim soon falls in love and gets married (within hours!)--but there are STILL some killers out there waiting to kill him and he needs to locate them and stop the contract! But who are they?!

As I said, the plot is pretty hard to believe! That is why I had trouble really caring about the film. However, the acting is pretty good (and I liked Warren Hymer--playing his usual dumb-guy role) and the film is inoffensive and a decent time-filler. Otherwise, it's an easy one to skip.
