    The usual Republic Pictures programmer

It's been a very long time since I watched a B western, with singing cowboys. At least 15 years. When you've seen one, you've seen all of them. But they are not charmless. Never forget that those features were shown, more than fifty years ago, in country side theatres. Not on Broadway of course. So, they are somewhere a part of the American film movie history. We like it or not.

Republic B westerns, as this one, were always very fast paced, not boring at all, with always the same rhythm, the same tempo. I have never noted a radical alteration between Monte Hale, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Allan Rocky Lane - although I am not sure he was singing - Ken Maynard and so on...I speak of the playing, of course. Republic pictures westerns were the best ones. As the serials. Those B westerns were in fact the prelude to TV episodes several years later. In early 50's, actually. The same topics, same actors, same directors, but for TV releasing.

In this film, you can find the famous Republic bad guy - Roy Barcroft - we found very often in this kind of production. The heavy character in many westerns, crime movies and serials.

What could I say more about it?

Nothing, actually. Nothing new. I repeat, when you've seen one singing cowboys film...
