    No raiding here

Back when the cowboy hero trio was in vogue, PRC pictures had its own trio the Frontier Marshals, Bill Boyd, Art Davis, and Lee Powell. It ended when Powell enlisted in the Marines and died in the South Pacific.

It's almost a sacrilege to trash a film like this considering what happened to one of the cowboy heroes in real life. Still Raiders Of The West is at the bottom of Hollywood's barrel.

As per B western tradition the title has nothing to do with the story. Nobody's doing any raiding. The Marshals are on assignment looking for the source of counterfeit money and they think they've got a line on it at Charles King's dude ranch where they've signed on as performers. At least Boyd and Davis have.

A great source of confusion here. This is not Hopalong Cassidy William Boyd. This Bill Boyd was a country western radio entertainer and I'm sure the name was one big reason PRC signed him. He could warble a nice cowboy ballad. And he did look good on a horse.

We certainly didn't need the Snowflake character here acting like a jester to the cowboy hero trio either. I'm sure that's why this film wasn't broadcast for a long time.

Unless you like obscure B westerns move along folks.
