    Torchy Deals With Old Heidelberg

When he bother can't take Dorothy Dix to a fancy dinner, office boy Ray Cooke escorts her. He also has a chance to win a contract for the business by reuniting a visiting prince with his declasse sweetheart.

There are three settings for this episode in the series: the office where Cooke gets to torment manager Franklin Pangborn, a tailor shop, where Torchy argues with the tailor, and the banquet, where Cooke demonstrates his lack of culture and sees the matter through. The second section looks to have been edited down a a bit. The result is a pleasant if unexceptional comedy short.

Enjoyable but not all that funny.

In the early 1930s, Ray Cooke made about a dozen Torchy shorts. In these pictures, Torchy is an office assistant who often manages to come out on top.

In this installment, Torchy takes a friend's girlfriend out to dinner as a favor to them. But, as luck has it, a visiting Prince is nearby and Torchy sees a chance to sneak in to see him. Why? Because his company is trying to get the Prince to sign a contract for their steel. Can Torchy manage to sneak past the guards who are watching the Prince and save the day?

This is enjoyable but as I mentioned in the summary, it's not nearly as funny as the other Torchy films I've seen. But it is pleasant and entertaining.
