A Cowboy Being Framed for Rustling Cattle

This film essentially begins with a ranch owner by the name of "Rocky Brown" (Forrest Taylor) noticing that his herd of cattle has increased significantly in a very short time. So, concerned that he might be framed for cattle rustling, he sends a letter to the authorities asking for them to investigate. Within no time a cowboy under the fictitious name of "Tucson Smith" (Rex Bell) arrives and begins to conduct a clandestine investigation to ascertain who might benefit from all of this. Sure enough, he soon discovers that a railroad is being built and that there are a couple of wealthy men in the nearby town who stand to make a large sum of money if they can somehow acquire Rocky's land. That being said, however, Tucson Smith has no way to prove anything. Meanwhile, the longer Rocky holds out and refuses to sell his land, the more desperate these shady characters become--to the point that they are willing to commit murder if that's what it takes. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this was an okay Western movie which suffered somewhat by the limitations of the time and the lack of resources used for this particular picture. So, the viewer might have to make certain allowances. And while this certainly wasn't a great Western by any means, I suppose it was good enough for the time spent and I have rated it accordingly. Average.
