If you’ve always been too intimated to make paella, you’re not alone.
Haylie Duff says she used to think that the Spanish staple was “reserved only for those that really know what they are doing…or really know paella” — but after developing her own recipe for the dish on a whim with a friend, she quickly changed her mind.
While kicking back at her Malibu home with The Walking Dead star Alanna Masterson, the Real Girl’s Kitchen host decided to “spontaneously” give paella a go. “Paella is one of those dishes that takes a while to make...

Andrew Garfield is setting the record straight after receiving quite a bit of backlash for his recent comments about being a "gay man" just "without the physical act." In case you missed it, the 33-year-old actor plays the lead role in Tony Kushner's play Angels in America during which the character (Prior Walter) struggles between his Jewish faith and homosexuality. He joined a discussion panel earlier this month and explained how he prepared for the role by watching episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. "Every Sunday I would have eight friends over and we would just watch Ru," Andrew revealed. "I mean every single series of RuPaul's Drag Race. I mean every...

The actor was criticised over comments he made about preparing to play a gay man, joining actors such as James Franco who’ve toyed with ideas of sexuality
In an interview about his role as Prior Walter in the National Theatre’s current production of Angels in America, Andrew Garfield became the latest male celebrity to suggest that he might be gay. Asked about playing a gay man living with Aids, the actor joked that the experience had practically made him a gay man himself, “just without the physical act”.
“Every Sunday I would have eight friends over and we would just watch Ru [RuPaul’s Drag Race],” Garfield said in a discussion at the National Theatre. “This is my life outside of this play.” He went on to clarify that, as far as he knows, he’s not a gay man, but added, “maybe I’ll have an awakening later in my life,...

Every Sunday for the past four years, Kevuntez King woke up at 3:45 a.m. to stand on a Memphis, Tennessee, street corner selling newspapers. Rain or shine, King went to work knowing that each week brought him one step closer to his dream of paying for college. "I'm a very determined young man," King told The Commercial Appeal. This spring, all that determination paid off. King graduated high school as a three-sport athlete with a 4.0 Gpa and earned acceptance to Tennessee State University. Thanks to the roughly $200 he earned every Sunday, he'll be able to pay for college himself.

People have been arguing the “who was comics’ first costumed hero” question for decades. Some feel it was Mandrake the Magician, by Lee Falk and Phil Davis (1934), others cite the truly obscure Red Knight created by John Welch and Jack McGuire, and still others prefer to credit E.C. Segar’s Popeye (1929). But I think it’s safe to say that most comics fans and scholars bestow that honor upon The Phantom, created by Lee Falk and Ray Moore 80 years ago this past week.
Neither Mandrake nor Popeye are “costumed heroes.” They perform their feats of daring in their regular work clothes. Whereas the Red Knight got his start in 1934 as a guy named Bullet Benton, he did not don the Red Knight costume and, therefore, the costumed hero persona until April of 1940. I suspect somebody at the Register and Tribune Syndicate took a gander at the McClure Syndicate’s success with Superman.

Anne Marie here with one of the foundational building blocks of the legend that is Judy. This week it's the story you've probably heard: young Judy Garland sings in a two-reel with another mostly-unknown MGM child actor named Deanna Durbin. Mayer sees the short and decides to dump one of the girls. Which he chooses and why is up for debate, but the practical fallout turns one girl into a big star at a small studio, and puts the other on the road towards a mythmaking career.
The Movie: "Every Sunday" (MGM, 1936)
The Songwriter: Roger Eden
The Players: Judy Garland and Deanna Durbin directed by Felix E. Feist
The Story: When young Judy had signed with MGM, she had done so without a screentest. The powers that be decided to rectify that in 1936, casting Judy with Deanna Durbin, another girl singer whose classical style contrasted nicely with Judy's big,...

When you grew up loving movies movies the way I did, it can be lonely. Every Sunday all the other kids gathered around with their families and watched football while I hoped for a blizzard to freeze the game out so the TV stations would have to resort to playing old Hammer flicks. Everyone else could get away with wearing team jerseys all year, but I could just wear a costume one day a year.
Terribly sad, I know. I promise I’m getting to the point.
I loved movies. Still do, but back then, it was a quiet love. If I talked about anything other than Star Wars, then I was weird. Sure, people liked movies, but no one Really loved them. It was kids' stuff, even the harder stuff was just meant to be a distraction, not a passion. I was weird for loving this stuff,...

Throw all your leftover meat in a pan for five min with Evoo (extra virgin olive oil. But after I use it it’s just olive oil Lol) Chop up whatever veggies you can find. Salt n peppa that baby. It's almost September, which means a whole new slew of titles on Netflix! August proved pretty lucrative on the quality title front, but it looks as though September it's going to blow the rundown out of the water.
TV takes spotlight this month, with the latest full seasons of "The Walking Dead," "New Girl," "The League," "The Blacklist," "Arrow," "Bones," and "Parks and Recreation" primed and ready for streaming before their fall premieres. And fans still mourning the loss of "How I Met Your Mother" (in more ways than one) can rewatch the ninth and final season to their heart's content. Ah, memories. Showtime's recently departed "Californication" can be seen in its entirety (Seasons 1 -7) as well, starting September 1. That's a lot of TV.

It was an absolute blast, an honor, and I can’t wait to get back to do it again. Every Sunday during the month of Juan-uary we’re airing specials that take you behind the scenes of your favorite show.
