Clyde should be given an award for his patience!

"Half-Baked Relations" is the last film Andy Clyde made for Educational Films, as he'd soon move to Columbia where he continued making comedy shorts.

When the story begins, Andy is in court. Apparently, he attacked his brother-in-law with a wrench and he tells the story so you understand why he did this. The entire story is about Andy and his hellish brother-in-law. The brother-in-law is a know-it-all jerk and time and time and time again, he does things that would definitely merit the wrench! I could tell you more...but it's best you see for yourself.

I've seen a decent number of films about obnoxious brothers-in-law...particularly the shorts made by Edgar Kennedy. However, this one is better than average and quite clever. Well worth seeing.

          Not Among Andy's Best

Andy Clyde is in court for assaulting his brother-in-law with a wrench. He explains how he came to do it in flashback.

Andy's last short for Educational Pictures is not among his best. It stretches his long-suffering nice guy routine to the limit, although some of of the sequences, like the dogs walking through his dough, are amusing.

Andy would go on to star in short subjects at Columbia, more than any other series except for the Three Stooges. He would also appear in most of the Hopalong Cassidy movies, work on radio, and have regular roles on such television series as LASSIE and THE REAL MACCOYS.
