    I truly HATE Tom Howard

This must be one of the most annoying actors of the early years of "talkies". Until very recently, I had never heard of him and just saw two of his "comedy" shorts and found them totally devoid of humor. It seems that Tom's schtick was just babbling and blathering to no end until finally, and mercifully, the movie ended. He looked and acted a lot like an old man with dementia who just couldn't be shut up! But, in all the non-stop talking, he never really said much of ANYTHING at all. This is, in effect, this entire comedy short--no plot, just this old talentless guy talking and talking and talking and talking in a mindless and mind-numbing fashion. Now I can understand exactly WHY this actor is almost completely unknown today! It seems that after a long era of nothing but silent films, the studio was trying to make up for all that lost time!!
