Flesh and Spirit

Just watched "Flesh and Spirit 1922", a silent film meticulously restored and produced by Scott Spinucci of Applecart films. It has been a while since I watched a silent film but REALLY enjoyed this one. It stars 1920's stage and screen actress Belle Bennett as Truth Eldridge, a young woman in love with her cousin, an atheist scientist who is too self centered to pay her any attention. I don't want to give away too much, but there is a dramatic plot twist that alone makes the film well worth watching. Flesh and Spirit" is a tribute to the golden age of silent film. The film has been restored, edited and scored to the most authentic details. The production values, modernized musical score and 20's icon Belle Bennet make Spinucci's production well worth watching. There are only a few historical archives holding copies of this rare silent film. Don't miss out. I highly recommend it.

Amazement abounds as the characters react and relate to one another through facial expressions and elaborate gestures. There is a magic in bearing witness to this type of nostalgic cinema.
