The Butterfly Dance And The Leaping Tuna

Roger Moore -- not that one -- is flying back from China with mechanic Lige Conley. When he spots a bevy of bathing beauties sinking in a rowboat -- and Daphne Pollard too -- he parachutes down to rescue them. Conley gets pushed out of the plan, leaving the cat to land and Moore to collect the medal. He also gets Madeline Hurlock, while Conley is stuck with Miss Pollard.

Some of the color sequences survive in this late silent Mack Sennett movie, although not in great condition. Sennett was always willing to try the next technological hurdle, and was already preparing for sound; meanwhile, he added color to some of his silent movies to keep up interest. Besides this one, several featuring Carole Lombard also survive with muddled color intact.

This was Madeline Hurlock's last movie. She would retire to marry Marc Connelly, then divorce him to promptly marry Robert E. Sherwood. She lived to be 91, dying in 1989.
