    Rawhide (1926) -- Lost Western

Rawhide Rawlins ( Jay Wilsey ) has returned to Paradise Hole after having spent 5 years evading the law for his supposed killing of Charlie Reep, who with Strobel ( Joe Rickson ) and himself operated a mine. He forces Blackie Croont ( Slim Whitaker ), Strobel's henchman, to apologize to blind Nan ( Molly Malone ), the saloon pianist, for his insults and witnesses a deal between Jim Reep ( Al Taylor ) and Strobel. Still keeping his identity secret, Rawhide visits Charlie's grave with Two Gun ( Harry Todd ), a quirky character, and suggests that he was framed; he incurs the hostility of Nan, who believes that he was involved in a plot that resulted in the death of her father and sister. Nan is revealed to be cured of her blindness and to be aware of Strobel's treachery. Rawhide eventually coerces Strobel to sign over the mine claim and rescues Nan from kidnappers.

Produced by Action Pictures in 1926, this silent western drama is now considered a lost film.
