    VALUABLE INFORMATION

This film was made in 1923. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS in 1925. This site had inaccurate running time, and the proof is on You Tube and Vimeo.

What people don't realize is that the wall of fire AND the water separation and rejoining was done in this film! NOBODY talks about it. WHY?? The plot is similar in both films, with and it features a girl being punished for her religion. Another interesting trivia is that the Ruler is the same as Loves of the Loves Of the pharao (1922) . That film, the ruler is a continuation of his the slaves and how they were abused. Moses is endowed with supernatural powers and creates the plagues, wall fire and the water separation and rejoining. I've watched both and the are not the same. I would like to see DeMille copied the movie or was inspired to create his own version after seeing this film.

    • Trivia
When the film opened in England, it was around the same time as De Mille's Ten Commandments which also featured a scene of the Israelites fleeing the Egyptians through the parting of the Red Sea. in the US this conflict between competing versions of the same material was avoided when Paramount, which had produced The Ten Commandments, bought Moon of Israel and did not let it get released until 1927.
