Poor Jenny review

A tragic melodrama charting the downfall of a working class girl who falls for a callous playboy. It's downbeat but entertaining, and gives the superb Asta Nielsen a chance to show her star quality. One of a number of films she made with director Urban Gad, who would become her husband two months after this film was released.

Ms Nielsen wears an absolutely enormous hat and a variety of provocative outfits including hot pants which would have seemed revealing even their seventies heyday. But as usual she plunges downwards, signified by the fact she starts smoking.
