Probably truncated...so it's hard to blame Lloyd for this one.

In recent years, due to YouTube and the internet, more old silent films are available now than were during many previous decades. Suddenly, lots of supposedly lost films have been posted for us all to enjoy....and that's a marvelous thing about the internet. However, one problem is that many of these very early films are in horrible shape...with lousy prints and often using severely truncated versions instead of the original and somewhat longer version. This is very much true of many of Harold Lloyd's early films...back when he was making 30-40 pictures a year. Too many of them obviously are available but with bits missing...and this appears to be the case with "Move On".

When the film begins, Harold is a policeman. A gag involving a blindman appears truncated...there is no punchline. And, when he goes to the park to hang out with his sweetie, portions seem missing. Additionally, while the gag involving the man in the baby carriage is funny, the boss coming and tossing Harold...well, that was just cheap slapstick and made no sense.

My score of 3 is reflective of the film I saw. Perhaps there is a longer version that is more coherent. If you see one, let me know, as the "Move On" I saw was pretty lame.
