Ambition. That's it.
You get your dream house, dream body, dream job, dream husband, then what?
You hate it all, and then you create drama because you're bored or even worse, you backstab others because you crave what they've got that you don't, and all of that because you're too busy climbing the social ladder and therefore EMPTY.
You need to have a heart in order to enjoy the fruits of your ambition.
Gosh what a culture!

This is good background or space-out TV sometimes after a long day as it's not relatable or emotionally touching in any way.
I was in my late teens when Laguna Beach and then The Hills were popular, so it's also a bit of a throwback to watch this. It is very similar in that it is fake yet vain and self-indulgent at the same time. It's very strange to see a group of adults, even working professionals, in situations similar to The Hills-how can anyone find it real or take it seriously? It's pretty simple: a small, maybe awkward or unkind moment happens between two characters and then the next several episodes are focused on discussions about the situation. Most of these situations would be forgiven in forgotten quickly in real life. For example, there is an episode on S2 where a woman is at her engagement party, but takes the time to talk with her friends about the status of a disagreement with another co-worker who she is not close with. Why in the world would someone focus their energy on something so silly on a big personal day?
Despite these critiques it is a simple show and I can see why some enjoy it.
The main characters' outfits and the houses are fun to look at.

This is a terrible show, with horrible people on it. So bad it's fascinating. But I have a thing for bad TV. If you don't, just skip it.
Watching these plastic fantastic superficial women sell over the top houses is a guilty pleasure. You won't feel intellectually challenged, but it is very easy to watch. Some keywords to summarize this show: Boytoy, barbies, botox, backstabbing.
I'm instantly addicted. All of the bad reviews are true. The women are terrible and the Oppenheimer brothers are pigs. They're all superficial, unevolved and ridiculous, and I can't stop watching.
