Initially I thought it's going to be a good action movie with good fighting sequences, but no, it's a typical malay drama type movie with not much action and too much talking, it was quite a drag to watch it. Quite disappointed I must say.
Good mix of drama, action, humour and important lessons/messages. Great movie to watch.
If you expect to watched action along the way, you will come back disappointed. This movie are not just about fight in the ring, but it is much more deeper than fighting for money.
Well, to be honest, I was annoyed by Namron's shouting because I think in a real life training, a commanding officer would not shout with that slow articulation. It's sluggish. There's the detail and I think he missed it. I love military movies and the best I've seen so far is Sicario. Take their action scenes as an example. Realistic deaths, realistic weapon feedback and also appropriate weapon usage. You see, I don't believe PASKAL would still use M16 in their gun range training. PASKAL was said to be the best protection team in Malaysia. Paling-paling pun I think they will use M4A1, HK416 or more modern weapons.
However, I don't hate this movie. This movie is fresh. Not new but it's rare because Malaysian movie scene rarely tells about military, police, tactical and so on (Polis Evo, J Revolusi etc). I think it can still be improved, to be honest. I would like to see Malaysian movie scene strive for the better. Hoping to see more.

This is not only the best Malaysian movie of 2019 but arguably the decade as well. It had all the right ingredients but most importantly, the director put in the right amounts too. Plot; made sense. Drama; just nice. Religion; not excessive. Love; minimal. Humour; dark but necessary. Action; just about right. Does this movie have flaws? Of course, which movie doesn't but they are really hard to find and you must be having a bad day if you categorize them as anything major. Mark of a good film is one that transcends communities and I have no problem suggesting this to a non-Malay/ non-Malaysian person.
