Am finding the overly positive reviews here very misleading....and wrong.
This isn't an original theme, but is handled in a so-so manner, I'm not saying I could do better with the budget, but there are other movies that carry the theme better. Take Upgrade for example, that covers the AI to human takeover in a far more dramatic fashion and is well executed.
Implanted is rather pedestrian in its storytelling and I think it could have been made with half of the 01:35:00 runtime. I presume budget constraints were the reason as to why this has such a slow pace.
I'm not going to slate this movie, because it unfolded the tale to a fairly obvious conclusion, so would have gotten a higher score if the ending went the way I wanted it to, but should be rather obvious once you see it for yourself.
The lead carried her role well and her supporting cast did the best they could, given the scripting.
Implanted will not blow you away and does portray our fears of wearable AI's in a half decent way, it just needed faster pacing and tighter scripting to keep the audience engaged.
If you have an hour and half and want a slow story to keep you mildly entertained, this is it, but look elsewhere if you want high octane thrills - in other words it's watchable and I have seen far, far worse than this. We only need to look at some of Bruce Willis' latest movies to demonstrate that point.
After watching this, I really want to revisit Upgrade now!!

I watch it till end but it was a hopeless case. I can assure that all these high reviews are extremely biased. Don't waste your time.
Sarah (Michelle Girolami) gets implanted with an AI chip. The AI program starts torturing and demanding her to perform certain tasks. It quickly escalates into illegal activities.
This is a very small indie with Michelle Girolami doing most of the heavy lifting. To be fair, she does a fine job. I don't know anything about the actress. Basically, she's acting against air. As for the writing, the movie needs to introduce more of her story first. At the beginning, I don't know anything about her. I don't even know if she paid for the chip or if it's an experiment. The movie doesn't set up well enough. Most of this is rather repetitive and the story is simply not turning. It's torturing and she's forced to do something over and over again.

I had to stop after the first 15 mins ..... Fabien Dufils' depiction of Sarah (Michelle Girolami.) didn't grip me in anyway ... we are dropped in at the deep-end in a totally unbelievable scenario. Ha Fabien gone with a B movie format it would have been a least funny.
I watched this thinking it's highly rated but I was wrong.
No reason, no plot twists and full of plots holes.
This movie was good on concept but bad at execution. A movie to watch when you got nothing better to watch.
