For those familiar with Spanish acting will know that this is series is an ensemble cast of some of the finest Spanish actors. The four leads in the final episode are pure Spanish acting royalty.
The show is a slow burnt until the final episode where everything is revealed and which contains the best acting of n the show with dramatic and funny moments in equal measure. Highly recommended.

Episode one has a good tight script, fast-paced, attractive cast. Excellent drama.
Episode two - the character Esther doesn't ring true to the one in Episode one (now an adult) - overdressed, over made-up and poor acting. Valentina is excellent, as is Adela. The father is brilliant.
Episode three - it all begins to fall apart. The script and plot is good but the actors are dreadful. Valentina, now much aged, looks more like Esther from Episode two. But what has happened to the beautiful sultry Esther from episode two? She looks completely different: fat, bloated and sedate. Plot could have been superb and deeply moving but the actors are dire. Especially Adela.

A really good show for a prechristmas sunday evening with a tea and some speculatius. Good mix of drama, great acting and an arthousy cinematography!
I began to watch the series attracted by its great cast of actresses, which a priori caught attention. But as it progressed everything became a real nonsense: the story is unlikely and forced, the script sometimes you do not know if it is a joke or not (OMG with some dialogues), and the performances are at a level of school theater played on Christmas event. And with some over acting that makes you wonder why you waste your time watching this.
The only one thing that saves the series to burn it at the stake is the performance of veteran actresses.
In short, totally expendable.
