Synopsis

In this world, there are many people who seem to be wandering along a relationship borderlining friends and lovers. This borderline is also commonly known as the FRIEND ZONE. It is a special area for those who are stuck in the middle where they cannot really stay friends with their close friends, nor move forward to be their friends lovers.

Palm (Naphat Siangsomboon) is one of those who has been stuck in the friend zone with his best friend, Gink (Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul), for 10 years. During high school, he tried to cross the line by confessing his feelings for her. But Gink simply rejected him, saying that being friends is good enough. Since then, Palm and Gink have grown closer as true best friends. Every time Palm breaks up with any of his countless girlfriends, Gink will tell him off, talking some sense into him. And every time Gink fights with her boyfriend, no matter where she happens to be in Myanmar, Malaysia, or Hong Kong. All she has to do is make a call to Palm, who uses his perks as a flight attendant to catch flights to be with her.

Perhaps, it is because of his excessive kindness that also makes Gink has a problem with Ted (Jason Young) her boyfriend. One day, Gink asks Palm out of the blue, Have you wondered, what if we were an item? Right then, sparks fly wildly inside Palms mind, knowing that this might be the only chance for him to cross the borderline. Although, Palm has no way of knowing if leaving the FRIEND ZONE this time will lead him to the beginning of his romantic love life or to the end of his friendship with Gink for good.

A rather enjoyable romantic comedy...

The 2019 Thai romantic comedy titled "Rawang... Sinsud Thang Pheuxn" (aka "Friend Zone") from writers Pattaranad Bhiboonsawade, Chayanop Boonprakob and Thodsapon Thiptinnakorn was actually a rather enjoyable movie in the genre.

Sure, it had the archetypical elements that most romantic comedies have, but "Rawang... Sinsud Thang Pheuxn" offered more than just your generic dribble, and that actually made it a much more enjoyable and entertaining movie. Especially since the storyline is one that gobbles you up and takes you along on a rollercoaster ride.

The characters in the movie were well-written and had good dialogue. And of course it definitely helped that they had a really good cast ensemble to portray the characters in the movie. Lead actress Pimchanok Leuwisetpaiboon (playing Gink) and lead actor Naphat Siangsomboon (playing Palm) carried the movie phenomenally well, and had a great on-screen chemistry.

I have to admit that I was more than genuinely entertained by director Chayanop Boonprakob's 2019 romantic comedy, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. So if you enjoy romantic comedies, then I can warmly recommend you take the time to sit down and watch "Rawang... Sinsud Thang Pheuxn".

My rating of "Rawang... Sinsud Thang Pheuxn" lands on a well-deserved seven out of ten stars.

Funny & Cute

Accidentally came across this film and I have no regrets! Friend zone is a cute rom com for when you don't feel like thinking. The actors are cute and have a way to catch the watchers sympathy.

The story is simple but It is romantic and attractive and include funny scene.I also like it.And many people will see the beauty of our country.So I want to suggest to every one try to watch this movie.And I admit thant you will not lose your time and money.

More of a comedy film than a romance one...

..and that's not good i think best romcom movies are a balance of romance, comedy and heart

the main complain i have is that i wish they showed more of the character's friendship rather than the mishaps of crossing through that line of "friend zone"

nonetheless, it was still very entertaining and i had some laughs. the main leads are cute and a lot of the other characters were really funny.

there were a bit problematic ideas around the friend zone coming off as somewhat a strategy to get the girl but i think the male lead didn't intentionally plan it even though it did come off that way. the endings for the three other guys were cute.

but watch with caution, it's not about getting the girl, it's about saying what you feel instead of just pretending to be just a friend and being fine with your friend's relationship pining over him/her and then blaming him/her for your misery.
