The most obvious take-away is that Netflix customers really like their thrillers; festive airport nailbiter Carry-On, starring Taron Edgerton, continues to be one of the most successful original films the streaming firm has released in years. The White Collar reboot has been confirmed, and the revival will finally answer the show's thrilling cliffhangers from the series finale back in 2014. The White Collar revival has been widely compared to Suits LA, another upcoming procedural whose flagship series found its start on network television before moving to streaming. White Collar shares many similarities to popular shows, but it found its niche by focusing on white-collar, luxurious crimes, such as art theft and forgery. The production, which is remake of Caroline Vignal’s 2020 French hit My Donkey, My Lover & I (Antoinette Dans Les Cévennes), starring Laura Calamy, is due to shoot in the Cévennes region in south-central France this summer.

Royer will line and executive produce the movie, which is lead produced by Christopher Simon at New Sparta Productions and Collette under her Vocab Films banner.

The new production will be first official gig for Royer’s company Voulez-Vous Production Services, which he created in 2023 to build on his work on The Substance.

Joining Screen’s reviewing team will be critics from 11 international outlets to give their verdict on the 22 films in Competition this year for the Palme d’Or.

The former Fulwell 73 exec has been with the Big Brother producer since January last year in a Creative Director of Development role, but is now moving across the pond for a “huge move personally and professionally.”

Her and her family are moving after receiving “an offer we couldn’t refuse.”

“It’s been a brilliant 18 month journey as [Initial’s] Creative Director of Development with major new series commissions coming down the line that I’m hugely proud of and looking forward to watching in 2025 and beyond,” she added in a LinkedIn post.

Initial parent Banijay UK confirmed her exit, but didn’t provide details of a replacement.
