    Plenty of kissing

A lesbian couple go to visit another lesbian for a threesome. What are the motives of the travelling couple? Is this a good idea? Billed as a romance, this borders on erotica. I remember the days when a lesbian kiss on film would make the press, there's enough snogging and licking going on here to make the biggest fan of this genre happy. Seemingly made on the cheap and mainly set in one room, there are mundane conversations about stamps and fist fights and yet it is somehow, strangely compelling. Throw in an underused chauffeur and a neighbour who seems to constantly sit outside and this along with several hurtful looks and awkward silences is your movie. Certainly a movie whose content and motives could easily be put up for a discussion group. My favourite line of the movie. "Do I deduct some Welsh in your voice?" As a Brit, that is a definite no!

    BEYOND HORRIBLE!!

It was one long scene that went nowhere. It was a movie called "good Kisser' and there was a lot of kissing without ACTUAL kissing, i.e a lot of lip pecking. I hate movies where actors pretend to kiss and it's just a lot of open mouth lip touching thinking we don't know the difference.

If you're going to make a film called Good Kisser make sure the actors are actually KISSING. Geez, this was embarrassing.

I am not even going to comment on the terrible production and acting.

    SKIP!

    Enjoyable Indie Movie

This story shows the journey of a couple who starts exploring sexuality with a third party for a night. It goes deeper than what's on the surface, as the story starts to unveil. Like in reality, when there are multiple partners involved, whether it be platonic, committed, etc... there are feelings of excitement, trepidations, openness, jealousy, and uncertainty. Without spoilers, it will make the mind question about what is truly desired in general, what is denied or accepted , and what we tolerate, or won't tolerate in general. Acting and pace of the story is really good.

    More awkward than sensual

Have you ever watched a TV show that ran for several seasons, and toward the end producers tried to bring closure to a character's arc by introducing a romance that didn't actually make narrative sense? How did that make you feel?

Because, well, that's 'Good kisser.' The intimacy is rather forced, not organic, and as a result is less than believable and not terribly sexy. Factor in the incredibly awkward "getting to know you" small talk that fills half the runtime, and... well...

Of course, let's not kid ourselves: We're watching this because we want lesbian representation and romance in media, whatever form that takes and wherever we can get it. So the quality of the acting, the camerawork, the script--does it really matter? That depends on how desperate you are for that representation; if you're trusting on the strength of the dialogue to fill in the rough edges, please temper your expectations.

There's something to be said for the periodic appearances of neighbor Clark. Like, I could almost imagine 'Good kisser' being turned into a sitcom about the poly trio of lesbians and their neighbor who dispenses kernels of wisdom and advice as needed. That's the vibe Carter Rodriguez gives off in his unkempt appearance here; meaning no disrespect to the stars, it feels like he's the best actor on-screen, or in the very least, he has the best scenes. Which adds another level of awkwardness to the whole picture.

Oh, and did I mention that the plot development waits until the last 25 minutes to show up? Yes, there is a plot! At the end!

What it comes down to is that 'Good kisser' isn't all bad, but ultimately it plays at being something more profound, or at least fulfilling, while not actually making the effort to get there. As a result, it can't even satisfy the needs that we want it to.
