    great documentary

Amazing how much we don't know about dogs. Why the smallest of toy dogs exist (for a purpose) to how it all started thousands of years ago.

The only story I could have done without is the Brittany the PTSD girl. As a special operations and combat veteran, this piece was nauseating from her incredibly weak demeanor to the "having a nightmare" fake footage. Poor Rue.

    Dog lovers must watch

Brought tears to my eyes, in a good way. That was my review, apparently it was too short. I love dogs. I have two. A German Shorthair, and a BlackLab Pittbull. How long does this have to be?

Way too high of a ranking on here..

This film is more of a 3.7 out of 10 stars. You'll see if you're unlucky enough to waste your time watching it. It isn't even a documentary. Sort of a lame made for television movie. I was totally fooled into watching it by the trailer. Sorry I didn't write this review sooner, I could have saved some people the horror of watching this. Bad acting, bad make-up, dull and seems to go on forever. Plus the science in it seems to be pseudoscience at best.

2018 documentary making claims debunked decades ago

The current rating of 8 stars for this nonsense must come from either friends and family of he filmmaker, or people expressing their feelings about dogs in general (and I love dogs too) -- but NOT this awful film.

The film is distributed by "Curiosity Stream" which after seen a few by this distributor I can only assume specializes in cheaply picking up bad documentaries that were never science based, or are no longer valid due to the new science.

There are so many sweeping statements about the evolution of dogs in "Mans's best Friend" that are not supported by the science or have been outright debunked that it is painful to watch.
