The Hart-Break Killer

Robert Hart (Eight the Chosen One) is a nerdy and lonely guy. He has the hots for an escort named Mel (Sushii Xhyvette Holder). His buddies from work, Tony (Anthony Wayne) and Mike (Joe Makowski) are always giving him a hard time when it comes to the ladies.

Robert makes a dinner date with Mel, only to be stood up. Back home flipping through the channels Robert comes across an adult film featuring the object of his desire, Mel. Disappointed he calls his buddy, Tony to ask about a woman from work, Pam. Robert asks Tony if Pam is single, then asks for her phone number. Robert invited Pam out for drinks. Things don't the way that Robert hopes. Robert sees a psychiatrist, Dr. Spector (Ashley Lynn Caputo) and tells her about his female troubles. Mike and Tony invite Robert over to watch a ballgame on television. Little does Robert know that his friends hired a stripper, Tanya (Katie McKinley), for him. This makes Robert uncomfortable.

Hart Break Killer is a bit different from what we usually get from Sean Donohue. It was still good, and there's a lot of familiar faces from his other films. Eight the Chosen One does an excellent job as Robert.

It's refreshing to see Sean Donohue attempt something different from the rest of his horror fueled filmography and The Hart-Break Killer doesn't disappoint. This dark comedy balances psychological horror and tongue in cheek humor well and the dash of sleaze adds a nice touch to the overall film. Lead actor Eigh8t the Chosen One is the highlight, his acting isn't too over the top and makes his nerdy character Robert believable and someone you can root for.
