It's got a pretty standard low-budget werewolf movie plot: small town, grisly attacks, baffled cops, a spiritual character who knows the truth and a shape-shifting monster hiding in plain sight. All good, even if not especially original. Performances are amateurish, but no worse than similar movies of its ilk. The problem is that the production values are so cheap (noticeably below typical low-budget standards) that they become a distraction and break any immersion. The cinematography and lighting make this look like it was shot on a camcorder; and they apparently couldn't pay extras to appear in backgrounds; the sets look silly and thrown-together; and the werewolf is barely seen but when it appears it's very underwhelming.
I enjoyed watching this film immensely. Told in the format of old, with creativity, scares and humor. The hour and a half flew by, not a common occurrence with today's films. Bravo to Beau Yotty and the team. My favorite Beau Yotty film thus far.
Lone Gunslinger Pictures hit the nail on the head with Desert Wolf. It's a fun watch for Halloween. It even takes place in a small town! There were parts that had me afraid for the characters, and in true Beau Yotty fashion, laughing from a quick witted joke by one of the characters in the next. Overall, it's not for the gore lovers; it's for the horror fans who love creatures, old school horror, characters, writing, and humor.
I can see this becoming a cult classic.

Sorry, do not mean to be mean, but how did this movie get a 10 review from 4 people???! I am assuming they are either family or friends of either the director/writer, "actors" in the film, or probably just reviews of the people who were in the film or involved in filming. The plot is laughable, lighting horrible. The sound is bad. Some of the dialog is muffled. The writing is not good. Super low budget film, my teen daughters would have done a better job on making a movie. Does not at all compare to werewolf horror classics at all!!! The score is misleading and makes people think it is a decent movie, which it is not. We spent $5 to watch it. The only thing i will say, is it made us laugh at all the "acting" , props, bad camara, sound, ect.
