I love magical realist movies and this one really left a great impression on me. Nowadays it's hard to find fantasy films with no superheroes or robots. I'm glad they are indies like this that can entertain but also dive into serious subjects like the afterlife.
This was our family's Holiday movie and it was perfect. A heartwarming and fun movie. You really feel the connection between Pablo and his grandfather, and how much they care about each other. The story is very unpredictable with twists around every corner. The director does a great job in keeping us at the edge of our seats.
The movie is a fun detective caper that kids will enjoy, but also keeps adult viewers fully engrossed with topics like religion, death, and the afterlife. This is a great family film.

It's really unusual to find a movie that is full of kind and caring characters, and is, most of all, about the love of a young man for his grandfather. Of course, played by the inimitable Mario Ernesto Sanchez, much-loved leader of the Miami / Hispanic Theater scene, how could he be anything but lovable? Benji Leon does a great job as the concerned teenager, with Gene Gabriel being suitable creepy as the Mysterious Man. Zully Montero is as lovely as ever, although she turns out to be something a little unexpected too. And Beatrice Leiva has a small role in which she is positively luminous! Beautifully written and directed by first time director, Ismael Gomez III, this is a truly Miami story, full of recognizably Miami characters. And the rabbits are pretty good too!
I love how this film is able to balance comedy and drama with such a serious theme. The close bond between the grandfather and grandson really resonated with me. I love the fact that this was actually filmed in Florida instead of using b-roll segments to make it look like Miami (looking at you Dexter)!
A low budget movie employing kind of Agatha Cristie's investigation but dealing with interesting topic: eternal life! There is nothing exceptional here: average screenplay, acting and directing are blended evenly to a film which is quite watchable!
So, if you want to see something slightly different, give it a go!
